Hey everyone! I recently upgraded to a Buick Encore GX, and while I’m absolutely loving how it drives, I’m struggling a bit with the cargo area. It’s a great size for a subcompact, but I’ve noticed that my groceries and gym gear tend to slide all over the place every time I take a corner. It’s getting a little frustrating hearing things roll around back there!
I’m really looking for some top-rated cargo organizer recommendations that fit the Encore GX dimensions perfectly. I specifically want to find something that works well with the adjustable dual-level cargo floor—I don’t want to lose the ability to use that lower tier if I need to. I’ve looked at some generic collapsible bins at the big-box stores, but they feel a bit flimsy and don't seem to grip the carpet very well.
Has anyone found a specific brand or a custom-fit net that utilizes the existing tie-down points effectively? I’m hoping for something durable enough to handle muddy hiking boots but flexible enough to fold away when I need to haul larger items.
What specific organizers are you all using to keep your trunk tidy without sacrificing too much of that precious cargo space?
+1 to what was said earlier. The Rola is great, but realy, if ur dealing with mud, i'd suggest a WeatherTech Cargo Liner for Buick Encore GX first to protect that dual-level floor. Budget-friendly options:
- Fortem Car Trunk Organizer: Best value, just be sure to use the straps.
- Starling's Car Trunk Organizer: Very durable, but maybe a bit bulky. Always make sure everything is anchored properly... dont want gear flying during a sudden stop!
> I specifically want to find something that works well with the adjustable dual-level cargo floor Honestly, the GX's dual-level floor changes the interior geometry, so generic bins won't stay put during cornering. You gotta have mechanical anchoring. I would suggest the Buick Encore GX Vertical Cargo Net for groceries. For boots, I've been using the Drive Auto Products Car Cargo Organizer cuz it has straps that hook to the factory D-rings. It stays secure even when the floor is lowered. Just make sure to clip 'em tight! Peace.
Seconding the recommendation above about anchoring everything down! In my experience, unsecured gear is a *HUGE* safety risk if you ever have to slam on the brakes... basically turns your gear into a projectile!! Couple quick questions tho:
1. Are you mostly hauling heavy stuff or just light groceries?
2. Does it need to be 100% waterproof for those boots or just easy to wipe down? ngl you dont want stuff flying around.
Honestly, I dealt with the same sliding mess in my GX till I tried the Rola 59001 M.O.V.E. Rigid Base Organizer. Its basically a game changer cuz the base is weighted and actually grips the carpet—even on that lower floor setting. It’s super rugged for muddy gear too. Just make sure to position it against the back seat to keep it locked in place during sharp turns, tbh!
Totally agree with kigxqfepod about the safety stuff. ngl, having a loose bin become a projectile during a hard brake is a legit concern. Most people overlook how much those generic bins slide around on the Buick carpet compared to the brand-name stuff. Just to help narrow it down, are you looking for a more permanent setup that stays back there, or something you can easily pull out when you need to use the full flat-load floor? Also, what's your budget looking like for this? Some of those high-end brands can get pretty pricey compared to the more basic stuff, and honestly, sometimes the extra cost is just for the logo.
