I just picked up a new Buick Encore GX, and with winter approaching, I really need to swap out the carpet mats before they get ruined by mud and slush. I’ve been looking at options like WeatherTech and Husky Liners, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about the fitment near the gas pedal and how well they stay in place on the passenger side. I’m looking for something that has a precise, edge-to-edge fit and doesn't look too 'industrial' for the interior. Does anyone have experience with the official Buick premium liners versus aftermarket brands? I’d love to know which ones provide the best coverage for the rear seats too. Which brand actually fits the contours of the Encore GX the best?

In my experience, I'd suggest skipping the big names this time. Honestly, I've had issues with WeatherTech FloorLiner in my last few cars—they always feel too plastic-y and the edges tend to curl after a year. For my GX, I tried the Buick Encore GX Premium All-Weather Floor Liners and they actually fit way better around the gas pedal.

* **Buick OEM Liners**: Best fit, looks less "truck-like," but the rear coverage is just okay.
* **Husky Liners WeatherBeater Series**: Better coverage in the back, but they feel kinda cheap tbh.

I mean, if you want that edge-to-edge look without the industrial vibe, go with the official Buick ones. They're legit. gl!

In my experience, if you want that edge-to-edge fit without the "industrial" look or the high price tag of the big brands, you should check out 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Floor Mats. I've tried many different liners over the years, and these are lowkey the best for the Encore GX. They have a carbon fiber texture that actually looks classy inside the cabin, not like a work truck.

Here's how they stack up against the others:

* **3D MAXpider KAGU Floor Liners vs WeatherTech FloorLiner HP**: The MAXpiders use a patented "MAXpider" backing so they literally do not budge on the passenger side, whereas WeatherTechs can sometimes slide if the anchors aren't perfect. Plus, they aren't that stiff, curling plastic material.
* **SMARTLINER Custom Fit Floor Mats**: If you're really watching the budget, these are a solid value pick. They offer great coverage for the rear seats, though the material feels a bit more basic than the 3D ones.

Honestly, I'd go with the 3D MAXpider L1BC12701509 KAGU Floor Mats for the front and rear. They contour perfectly to the GX floor pods. gl with the new ride!! 👍

I’ve been trying to go the DIY route to save some cash since I just got my GX, and honestly, there are a few things I wish I’d known before I started messing with it myself. I’m still pretty new to this whole thing, but here is what I’ve learned the hard way: - Be super careful if you’re thinking about those ‘universal’ mats you have to trim yourself. I tried that and ngl, it’s basically impossible to get them to look right around the GX footwell. It ended up looking really messy and didn't even cover the corners properly. - Safety is a huge deal. If you don't get the ones that click perfectly into the floor pegs, they slide around like crazy. I had a scary moment where the mat bunched up near the gas pedal because I didn't seat the clips right. Definitely check those pegs every time you clean them.
- Don't go overboard with the cleaning chemicals. I used some harsh stuff from the garage to get mud off and it left these weird white streaks that won't go away. Basically ruined the look. Just wanted to throw that out there for anyone else trying to do the self-service thing. It's definitely not as easy as it looks to get that perfect fit on your own. Has anyone else had issues with the clips not staying put?

Honestly, if you want that custom look without the name brand tax, I have found that going for some of the lesser-known but still custom-fit brands is the way to go. I have had my GX for nearly three years now and I really did not want to drop 200 dollars on mats when I first bought it.

  • SMARTLINER Custom Fit Floor Mats
  • These are basically the budget version of the big names. I have had them in for over 30,000 miles and they have not warped or moved an inch.
  • OEDRO Floor Mats
  • These are usually even cheaper on sale and the coverage is surprisingly good for the price point, especially around the dead pedal area. One thing I have learned over the long haul is that the industrial look people complain about usually comes from the material stiffness and how they are cleaned. If you want them to stay looking fresh, just hit them with some diluted all-purpose cleaner and a brush every few months. Just dont use those shiny silicone-based sprays. They make the mats way too slippery and dangerous near the gas pedal, plus it makes them look cheap. Stick to the budget custom-fit options and you will save enough for a few tanks of gas.
