I’m beyond excited to pick up my Escalade IQ soon! With that massive 55-inch pillar-to-pillar screen and all the rear-seat entertainment options, I’m curious what accessories are actually worth it. Should I look into specific high-speed charging cables or premium wireless headphones for the kids? What are you all planning to add to yours?

Pro tip: honestly, since the Escalade IQ runs that high-voltage architecture, u really gotta make sure your cables can handle the power delivery without overheating. I'd skip the cheap gas station cords and check out Anker 765 USB-C to USB-C Cable 140W cuz it's rated for the highest PD standards. Also, for the rear screens, I mean, the built-in Bluetooth is okay but if u want zero lag for gaming, look at the Twelve South AirFly Pro—it lets u use any buds with the auxiliary ports. Just make sure whatever u buy is USB-C 3.1 or higher for the best data transfer speeds!! gl with the new ride!

Ok so, I went through this last year with my previous EV and learned the hard way about overspending. I used to buy the most expensive gear, but honestly, now I'm way more practical about it. Just sharing my experience with kids and screens:

1. Sony MDR-ZX110 Wired Headphones vs. pricey Bluetooth sets: I've found that wireless ones always die mid-trip. These cheap Sony ones are like $15 and save me so much headache cuz they just work.

2. Baseus 100W USB C Cable 2-Pack vs. name brands: I compared these to the $30 cables and noticed zero difference in charging speed. Basically, why pay more when these handle the PD standards perfectly?

Anyway, I'm gonna stick to the budget stuff this time around lol. gl!!

Just found this thread and honestly, I went through this last year when I was prepping for my Lyriq delivery. After driving Caddies for ages, you kinda notice trends in what actually works versus what just looks cool on paper. Since the Escalade IQ has that massive 55-inch pillar-to-pillar display, I spent way too much time researching how to keep everything charged and connected without it looking like a rats nest of cables.

Basically, I looked at a few different paths. Option A was going all-in on high-end cables like the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Flex USB-C to USB-C Cable 6.6ft, which are super durable, but they're kinda pricey if you need four of them. Option B was going for the high-wattage stuff like the Satechi USB-C to USB-C Charging Cable 100W, which is what I ended up with. Honestly, the Satechi stuff feels more premium and fits the interior aesthetic of a Cadillac way better than the rubbery ones.

For the rear screens, I spent weeks comparing the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones against the Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones. The Sonys are technically better for noise canceling, but the Bose ones are sooo much more comfortable for long trips, especially for kids with smaller heads. I learned the hard way that if the headphones aren't comfy, the kids just won't wear 'em lol. Plus, since the IQ has that crazy 800V architecture, I've noticed it's highkey worth it to get a dedicated high-speed car charger like the Satechi 72W Type-C PD Car Charger just in case the built-in ports are being used for data. Anyway, hope that helps! 👍

Sooo, I went through this last year with my previous electric SUV, and honestly, the safety side of tech accessories is something I totally overlooked until I had a small scare. Like, with that massive screen and all the high-voltage stuff in the Escalade IQ, I've become way more cautious about what I'm plugging in. I used to just grab whatever was cheap, but after seeing a generic cable literally start to melt in my console because of the fast-charging heat... yeah, never again.

Anyway, I started looking into things that prioritize safety and heat management since those rear screens can get pretty warm during long trips. Here is what I ended up getting to keep things running cool and safe:

* For the kids' tablets and phones, I switched to the Anker 737 Charger GaNPrime 120W because it has active temperature monitoring. It's basically designed not to overheat even when multiple things are pulling power.
* I also picked up a Spigen ArcField Magnetic Wireless Charger for my phone because it has a built-in safety chip to prevent overcharging.
* Since the IQ is basically a rolling theater, I also grabbed some Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip for the garage area where I charge, just to have better visibility when I'm plugging things in at night.

It's kinda scary how hot those high-speed ports can get if the hardware isn't solid. I'm definitely going to be more methodical with the IQ. Has anyone else worried about the heat from that 55-inch pillar-to-pillar screen? I'm lowkey nervous about how it'll handle a summer road trip... but yeah, safety first I guess! lol

Oh man, congrats on the pickup! I've been driving Cadillacs for over a decade now and while the IQ is a total beast, I've honestly had some frustrating experiences with tech integration in these newer systems. Basically, that 55-inch screen is gorgeous, but it shows every single fingerprint, which drove me crazy in my Lyriq. I highkey recommend grabbing a few CleanVu Microfiber Cleaning Cloths to keep in the center console cuz you're gonna be wiping that glass down constantly lol.

For the rear seats, I actually had issues with the standard Bluetooth syncing for the kids. Honestly, the connection would drop or lag, so I switched to Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones and they've been much more reliable for long trips, tho they are a bit pricey. Also, don't rely on the built-in wireless pads if you're using navigation and music at the same time; the phone just gets way too hot and stops charging. I ended up getting some Anker 765 USB-C to USB-C Cable (140W Nylon) lines to actually get a decent fast charge while we're on the move. It's not as seamless as I expected for a luxury car, but those small tweaks make a huge difference in how much you actually enjoy the tech. Are u planning on doing any long road trips right away or just local driving? gl with the new ride!! 👍

Building on the earlier suggestion about saving money with basic gear, I gotta respectfully disagree. I've been driving luxury SUVs for decades, and in my experience, skimping on tech accessories for a beast like the Escalade IQ is a huge mistake. You really want to focus on performance and safety here.

  • Be extremely careful with power draw. These high-voltage architectures are sensitive. If you use gear that isnt properly rated for high-wattage delivery, you risk overheating the ports or even triggering a safety shutoff in the car's system.
  • Watch out for electromagnetic interference. Cheap electronics that arent shielded well can actually cause weird flickering or lag on that massive pillar-to-pillar display. It sounds crazy but I've seen it happen in high-tech cabins.
  • Avoid anything that doesnt have a solid heat sync. These consoles get warm enough as it is with all that processing power behind the dash. Basically, if the accessory feels light or flimsy, keep it away from your IQ. You want stuff that can handle the raw power this thing puts out without melting down... literally. Tbh, it's better to buy one high-quality item than five cheap ones that might gunk up your electronics.
