Hey everyone! I just recently took delivery of my 2024 Colorado Z71, and I’m absolutely loving the new redesign. However, after just a week of driving on some gravel back roads and dealing with a few rainstorms, I’ve noticed that the factory tires are already kicking up a ton of debris and road grime onto the lower rocker panels. I’m really worried about getting nasty rock chips so early in the truck's life, especially since the paint looks so good right now!

I’ve been browsing around, but I’m a bit overwhelmed by the options for the 3rd gen body style. I’m specifically looking for something that offers a "no-drill" installation because I’m really hesitant to start drilling into the wheel wells of a brand-new truck. I also want to make sure they provide enough coverage for the wider stance of the 2024 model without looking too bulky or like they belong on a semi-truck. I’ve looked at the WeatherTech Laser Measured flaps and the Husky Liners, but I’m curious if the official Chevy accessory ones are actually worth the extra premium.

Has anyone here installed mud flaps on their 2024 Colorado yet? If so, which brand did you go with, and how was the installation process?

For your situation, I'd definitely go with the WeatherTech No-Drill DigitalFit MudFlaps. I just put 'em on my Z71 and I'm honestly super happy with how they fit the 3rd gen lines.

Sooo, I did a ton of research because I also didn't wanna drill into my new truck, and these literally use the existing factory bolts and a clever locking cam system. It took me maybe 20 minutes for all 4 wheels, and the coverage is perfect for the wider stance without looking like a semi-truck lol. I looked at the Chevy ones too, but the WeatherTech 110161-120161 MudFlap Kit is basically half the price and the laser-measured fit is actually tighter against the fender. Plus, the material is a really high-quality thermoplastic that hasn't faded at all even with all the road salt I've hit. Seriously, they're a lifesaver for those rocker panels!

Honestly, I had a pretty frustrating experience with the WeatherTech No-Drill DigitalFit MudFlaps on my previous truck, so I was super cautious this time around. While the no-drill feature sounds great, I've found that they can actually trap grit against the paint and cause more damage over time if the fit isn't absolutely perfect... which it rarely is.

For my 2024 Z71, I ultimately went with the Chevrolet Accessories Front and Rear Splash Guards in Black. Yeah, they're a bit more expensive, but since they're engineered by GM specifically for the 3rd gen's wider stance, the tolerances are much tighter.

Here’s why I’d suggest sticking with OEM:
* Precise fitment that actually matches the rocker panel contours
* Higher quality polymer that doesn't get brittle in the cold
* No-drill mounting that uses the existing factory liner bolts

I really wanna emphasize checking the torque on those fasteners after a few hundred miles tho. It's a brand new truck, so don't settle for 'universal' fits that might rub! peace

Honestly, after years of off-roading, I'm all about safety and protecting that paint! For your situation, I've found RokBlokz Mud Flaps for 2023-2024 Chevrolet Colorado are basically the gold standard cuz they're semi-rigid and actually deflect debris away from the body better than the stiff plastic ones. They give you that extra coverage for the wider Z71 stance without looking like a semi-truck, plus they're a total breeze to install without drilling into your brand-new baby!

Quick tips:
* Go with the 'Original' size for a clean look that still provides amazing protection against rock chips.
* Always double-check your mounting hardware tightness after the first 100 miles just to be safe, right?

Seriously, I love how these hold up over time compared to the thinner options!

Ok so, I've been looking for a budget-friendly fix too cuz those dealer prices are honestly ridiculous. I think the Husky Liners are probably your best bet if you wanna save some cash. I had issues with expensive ones before that just didn't fit right for the price. Not sure if they're 100% perfect, but basically anything is better than letting the rocks ruin your paint... honestly just go with the cheaper no-drill ones imo.
