Hey everyone! I just recently picked up a 2024 Chevy Trax and I am absolutely loving the redesign. However, with winter right around the corner and a lot of rain in the forecast for my area, I’m getting a bit nervous about the factory carpet mats. They look nice, but they aren't going to stand a chance against the mud and slush I'll be dragging in daily.

I’ve been doing some research, but I’m torn between a few different directions. I’ve looked at the official Chevrolet accessories liners because I know they’ll fit the floor bolts perfectly, but they’re a bit pricey. On the other hand, everyone always swears by WeatherTech, though I’ve heard mixed things about the material being a bit too stiff or 'plasticky' over time. I also saw some TuxMat ads recently—they look super high-end and cover a lot of the side carpet, which is tempting since I have kids who tend to kick the sides of the footwell.

My main priorities are a perfect 'edge-to-edge' fit so nothing leaks onto the carpet, and a surface that isn't super slippery when wet. I’m also curious about how easy they are to clean; some of the deep-grooved ones seem like a nightmare to scrub the dried mud out of. I'm willing to spend a bit more (maybe up to $200-$250) if it means I won't have to replace them for the life of the car.

For those of you who have a Trax (especially the newer generation), which all-weather liners did you go with? Did you find that the laser-measured aftermarket brands actually fit better than the OEM ones from the dealership, and how are they holding up after a few months of use?

Just sharing my experience: I went through this exact same dilemma when I got my 2024 Trax LT. I honestly couldn't justify the $200+ for some of the bigger brands right after making a down payment, so I took a gamble on a more budget-friendly route. I ended up grabbing SMARTLINER Custom Fit Floor Mats 2-Row Liner Set for 2024 Chevrolet Trax and seriously, it's been one of my best purchases.

I was highkey worried they'd feel cheap or move around, but they actually lock into the floor pegs perfectly. They aren't as "cushy" as the fancy ones others mentioned, but they have this textured grip so my boots don't slide everywhere when it's pouring. I've already tracked in a ton of mud and basically just hosed them off in the driveway—super easy. Tbh, for like half the price of the big names, the value is insane. Hope that helps ur decision! 👍

Just sharing my experience: I went through this last year when I first got my Trax, and honestly, my main concern wasn't just the mud—it was the safety aspect of having a slippery footwell. I've had mats in the past that felt like a skating rink the second my boots got wet, which is actually super dangerous when you're trying to find the brake pedal in a hurry.

I spent a lot of time looking into the technical specs of the materials because I wanted something with a high coefficient of friction. While a lot of people go for the big names already mentioned, I ended up looking at the 3D MAXpider Kagu Series Floor Liners for the 2024 Trax. What sold me was the multi-layer construction; they have this specific textured surface that provides amazing grip even when soaked, and the backing has this 'MAXpider' fiber that grips the carpet fibers like velcro so they literally *cannot* slide around.

From a technical standpoint, you gotta be careful with some of the cheaper TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) mats because they can warp if your heater is blasting on the floor vents during winter, which creates a trip hazard. The MAXpider ones have stayed perfectly rigid for me. They cover the dead pedal completely, which is a huge plus for keeping salt off the carpet. Cleaning them is a breeze too—I just use a damp cloth and some Chemical Guys Nonsense Colorless Odorless Invisible All Surface Cleaner and they look brand new. Definitely worth checking out if you're worried about foot stability!! good luck with the new ride! 👍

OMG, I totally feel you on the new 2024 Trax! It is literally such an amazing redesign, right?? I was so nervous about my interior too because I'm basically the most cautious person ever when it comes to my car. Honestly, I spent *days* researching this cuz I didn't want to mess up the floor bolts or have something sliding around while I'm driving. That feels so unsafe!

I know people mentioned the Chevy ones already, but I actually ended up going with the WeatherTech FloorLiner HP for 2024 Chevrolet Trax. I was worried about that "plasticky" feel too, but the "HP" version is high-key different from their older stuff! It's a more rubber-like material so it isn't slippery at all when your boots are wet. Plus, it fits like a glove around the edges!

But if you're really worried about the kids kicking the sides (the struggle is real lol), you should seriously look at the TuxMat Custom Mat for 2024 Chevrolet Trax. My neighbor has them and they cover sooo much more of the vertical carpet on the sides. It's like a bucket for your floor! I was a little scared they'd be hard to clean because of the texture, but he just wipes them with a damp cloth and they look brand new.

Anyway, just make sure whatever you get actually clips into those floor anchors... you definitely don't want them bunching up under the pedals! Have you noticed if the back seat floor is totally flat in your trim level?? That might change which ones fit best! gl! 👍

yo, congrats on the new Trax! the 2024 redesign is actually insane, right?? i've got the Activ trim and seriously love it. since you're worried about the mud, i've basically tried everything to keep mine clean. so basically, here is my take on the big three options for ya:

1. OEM Chevy Liners: Honestly, these are solid because the fit is 100% perfect with the floor bolts. but yeah, like you said, they're kinda pricey and don't always have the highest walls for deep slush.

2. WeatherTech: i've used these for years but ngl, they can get that 'plasticky' feel after a while. They're super durable but sometimes they warp at the edges if it gets really hot, which drives me crazy lol.

3. TuxMat: Dude, if you have kids, THESE ARE THE ONES. I switched to these recently and the coverage is literally edge-to-edge. They go way higher up the sides than the others, so when the kids kick the carpet, it hits the mat instead. Plus, they aren't slippery at all when wet, which is a huge plus for safety.

If you want the best 'tech' specs, TuxMat wins on coverage, but WeatherTech is basically indestructible. Personally, I went with the high-coverage ones cuz I hate scrubbing salt out of the side carpets. Cleaning them is actually pretty easy too—just a quick wipe down and they look brand new. good luck with the winter prep! 👍

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, choosing between these brands is basically a trade-off between rugged utility and interior vibes. I've spent way too much time looking at the market research for these, and basically it boils down to what you actually do in your car daily.

I think you've gotta look at it like this:
- WeatherTech is the old reliable—super durable and widely available, though they can definitely feel a bit like hard plastic under ur feet.
- Husky is a great middle-ground if you want something that feels a bit more rubbery and less like a bucket.
- TuxMat is highkey the way to go if you want that luxury look, though they take a bit more effort to clip in perfectly.

Anyway, i'd probably just go with WeatherTech if ur in a super muddy area, but honestly you can't go wrong with any of the big names. They all hold their value pretty well too!! Good luck with the Trax!
