I recently picked up a C7 Stingray, and while I absolutely love the car, the stock exhaust is just a bit too quiet for my taste. I’m looking for a performance upgrade that provides a more aggressive, deep growl without causing that annoying cabin drone during highway cruising. I’ve been debating between the Borla ATAK and a Corsa Xtreme system, but I’m also curious if anyone has experience with Billy Boat setups. My budget is around $2,500, and I'm primarily interested in a cat-back system that offers a noticeable bump in horsepower. For those of you who have modified your Vette, which specific brand and model do you think offers the best balance of raw sound and daily drivability?

Ok so, I've spent a TON of time under C7s over the years, and ur totally right—the stock sound is way too polite for a Vette. Since ur looking for that deep growl without the highway headache, here's my technical breakdown: * Borla ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust System with AFM and NPP Valves: Honestly, this is the gold standard for loud. It’s aggressive and raspy. Borla’s "no-drone" tech is legit, but it might be a bit too 'high-pitched' if you want a deep muscle sound.
* Billy Boat Fusion Exhaust System for C7 Corvette: I’ve installed a few of these and they're AWESOME. It’s a much deeper, throatier rumble than the Corsa Xtreme Cat-Back Exhaust System mentioned earlier. The Fusion specifically works with your factory NPP actuators, so you can actually quiet it down when you need to... (very helpful for long trips).
* MagnaFlow Competition Series Cat-Back Performance Exhaust: If you want the deepest tone possible under $2,500, this is it. It’s basically a bass guitar for your car. Tbh, for that raw sound vs daily balance, the Billy Boat Fusion is the winner. gl with the build! 👍

Yo, congrats on the Stingray! ngl, the stock exhaust is way too quiet for a V8. Basically, the biggest issue with the C7 is the Active Fuel Management (AFM) – when it drops to V4 mode, many systems sound like a lawnmower and drone like crazy. If you want to avoid that, I would suggest the Corsa Xtreme Cat-Back Exhaust System with Polyphonic Technology. It uses RSC tech to specifically cancel out those annoying frequencies while keeping a SCREAMING top end. If you're worried about budget, the Borla S-Type Cat-Back Exhaust System is actually a better daily driver balance than the ATAK. The ATAK is LOUD, maybe too much for long trips. Billy Boat is deep, but i think the drone is harder to manage without proper tuning. Make sure to check if you have NPP valves first!! hope that helps, peace.

Quick question, does ur C7 have the NPP valves?? Unfortunately, I had issues with costs cuz I didnt check that first, but MagnaFlow Street Series Cat-Back Performance Exhaust System 19236 is a solid value!

Totally agree with what was said! Safety is highkey important when you’re pushing more power, so definitely check out the aFe Power MACH Force-Xp Cat-Back Exhaust System 49-34066-P. It’s super reliable, but honestly, make sure you also grab some Design Engineering Inc. Heat Shielding to protect your transmission and rear lines from the extra heat. It’ll keep everything running safely on those long cruises! gl
