Hey everyone! I recently picked up a Chrysler 300 and I’m looking to upgrade the stock exhaust to get a deeper, more aggressive growl without that annoying highway drone. I’ve been looking at the Borla S-Type and the Corsa Sport systems, but I’m torn between the two. My main goal is a nice rumble at idle that really screams when I open it up, but it still needs to be daily-driver friendly for the family. Since this is for the 5.7L Hemi, I want to make sure I’m getting the best bang for my buck. For those of you who’ve swapped yours out, which setup would you recommend for the best balance of sound and performance?

For your situation, I would suggest being a little cautious since you're using it as a daily driver for the family. I'm still pretty new to the whole modding scene, but I've been doing a ton of research because I wanted that same rumble for my 5.7L Hemi!

From what I've gathered, you really gotta watch out for the drone at cruising speeds or the kids might hate it lol. Here is what I recommend looking into:

Corsa Sport Series Cat-Back Exhaust System 14405 - This one is basically famous for having zero drone because of their RSC technology. It’s a bit pricier but probably the safest bet for a family car.
Borla S-Type Cat-Back Exhaust System 140444 - This gives that classic deep growl you're after. It's definitely louder than stock but maybe a bit more aggressive than the Corsa.

Honestly, I'd suggest checking with a local shop too just to be sure about the install. I'm super happy with how these Hemis sound once they're opened up though! Hope that helps you decide!!

Seconding the recommendation above! Those options are solid, but honestly, in my experience over the last 15 years with these Mopar builds, you're paying a huge premium for the name on the box. If you're looking for the best bang for your buck without that nasty drone, I've got two alternatives I've used on my own daily-driven Hemis:

1. MBRP XP Series Cat-Back Exhaust S7104409 - This is my top budget pick. It's T409 stainless so it lasts forever, and it gives a really deep, old-school muscle car growl. It’s slightly louder than stock at cruise, but it's totally family-friendly.
2. Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back Exhaust 817522 - This is a classic for a reason. It uses the Super 40 series mufflers. It's got more 'character' and rasp than the Corsa, but it's cheaper.

One tip from the 'experienced' side: if you're worried about drone while the family is in the car, check if your 300 has Active Fuel Management (MDS). If it does, any exhaust will sound kinda funky when it drops to 4 cylinders. You might wanna look into a tuner to disable that if it bothers you. gl with the build!

yo, congrats on the new ride! honestly, i feel u on the struggle between those two. i've been messing with hemi engines for like 10 years now, and i've tried a few different setups on my own cars. For your situation, I would suggest going with the one that focuses on sound cancellation tech... basically the one known for no drone. i actually had a similar setup on my old 300 and it was perfect for the family.

Here is what I learned over the years:
- My current setup is way better for long trips cuz the drone is *literally* zero
- The rumble at idle is deep, but it wont wake the neighbors unless you really stomp on it
- It definitely screams when you open it up on the highway!

tbh, i think the Corsa tech is slightly better for keeping the cabin quiet for the kids, but both are highkey great choices. it basically depends on your budget lol. good luck with the build!!

Ngl Thelma is 100% right about those crazy price tags! I love a good bargain that actually performs. If you're doing this yourself in the driveway, look at the Solo Performance Mach-X-CHR Cat-Back Exhaust. It's amazing because of those adjustable J-pipes... they basically delete the drone without needing a muffler that chokes the sound. It sounds absolutely mean when you floor it but stays totally silent when you're just cruising with the kids! Quick DIY tip for ya: when you're under there, spray the rubber hangers with some soapy water or WD-40 Multi-Use Product. They'll slide off way easier and save you a massive headache. Also, dont tighten everything down until the tips are perfectly aligned... ask me how i know lol.

So basically the consensus is that both Borla and Corsa are top-tier, but they're pricey. Tbh, if you're worried about the family and safety, MagnaFlow Street Series Cat-Back Performance Exhaust System 15064 is a solid middle ground. It's got a deep growl but it's super predictable on the highway. In my experience, keeping it a bit more mellow at cruising speeds is way better for long-term hearing and safety on road trips!
