Hey everyone! I finally pulled the trigger on a 2022 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack a few months ago, and honestly, it has been an absolute dream come true. I have always wanted a Mopar, and that 6.4L Hemi sound is just something else. However, now that the initial honeymoon phase is starting to settle down, I am beginning to notice a few areas where I think the car could really shine with some well-chosen improvements.

It is currently my primary daily driver, so I am not looking to build a dedicated drag monster quite yet. I want it to feel sharper and maybe gain a little more responsiveness without sacrificing the reliability. Right now, the car is completely stock, but I have noticed a few things that bother me. The body roll feels pretty significant when I am taking corners on my weekend drives, and the stock tires really seem to struggle for grip when I am trying to put the power down from a stop.

I have been doing some research online, but there is so much conflicting information out there that it is getting a bit overwhelming. Some people say a cold air intake and a tune are the first things you should do, while others swear that a catch can is the only truly essential first step for keeping the engine clean long-term. I am also trying to figure out if upgrading the mid-mufflers is worth it for performance or if it is just for the sound.

Here are a few things I have been considering:

  • Upgrading to a wider tire setup for better traction
  • Installing a catch can to prevent oil blow-by
  • Looking into strut tower braces or lowering springs to help with the handling

I am a bit worried about doing anything that might make the ride too harsh or loud for my morning commute. I really want to focus on the mods that actually make a noticeable difference in how the car drives and performs day-to-day. If you were starting from scratch with a stock Challenger, which performance upgrades would you consider absolutely essential to get the most out of the platform?

Saw this earlier but just now responding. Since youre dailying it, check out PowerStop Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Pads. They are way more budget friendly than OEM and stop the crazy brake dust from ruining your wheels. Honestly, spend some time on ChallengerTalk.com for real reliability data. Its better to focus on maintenance than chasing tiny power gains that might hurt your warranty anyway.

The factory 245s are the biggest bottleneck. Switch to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 275/40ZR20 for a massive increase in lateral grip and longitudinal traction. Also, install a Billet Technology Signature Series Catch Can immediately. The 6.4L Hemi is notorious for oil blow-by, and keeping that out of the intake manifold is critical for long-term engine efficiency and preventing timing pull from detonation.

I totally agree about the tires, thats definitely step one. Just a heads up tho, be careful with lowering springs. If you go too low on stock struts, you are gonna blow them out fast since these cars are heavy. Try a strut tower brace instead if you want to stay daily friendly. It helps with the chassis flex without making the ride harsh like aggressive springs do... definitely something to consider.

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.
