I finally got my 296 GTB but it lacks that aggressive carbon look. I am currently debating between the OEM side skirts or a lighter aftermarket front splitter to improve the aero.

  • Front lip
  • Side sills
  • Engine covers

I really want to personalize it without ruining the clean lines. Which carbon fiber upgrades do you guys think are best?

Just seeing this now and figured Id chime in. Congrats on the 296... its a beast. Honestly, if youre looking for the best bang for your buck in terms of aesthetics and protection, Id look at side sills first. They really ground the car and make it look much lower than it actually is without the constant risk of scraping every driveway like a front lip does. I would suggest checking out the Capristo Side Skirts Carbon Fiber Ferrari 296 GTB Glossy. Capristo fitment is usually spot on and their carbon weave matches the Ferrari factory look pretty closely. Plus, they act as a bit of a sacrificial layer against road rash and small stones kicking up from the front wheels. OEM skirts are basically daylight robbery price-wise, so aftermarket is definitely the practical move here. As for the engine covers, like the Mansory Carbon Fiber Engine Cover Ferrari 296 GTB, they look sick but its basically jewelry for your engine. Unless youre doing a lot of cars and coffee events where youve got the hatch open, you wont get much use out of them. If you want something youll actually notice every day, maybe look into Capristo Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps Ferrari 296 GTB instead. You see them every time you check your mirrors and they really break up the paint color nicely. Just make sure you get dry carbon so it doesnt yellow in the sun over time... seen that happen to too many guys who cheaped out on the resin quality.

Go for the Novitec Front Spoiler Lip Carbon Ferrari 296 GTB since it provides actual aerodynamic benefits for front-end stability at high speeds, whereas the engine covers are basically just eye candy.

Totally agree about the sills helping the stance. Quick tip while I have a sec: if you want high impact for less cash than a full kit, look at the 1016 Industries Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler for Ferrari 296 GTB. It adds that aggressive edge without ruining the lines. Just make sure to budget for PPF on the carbon bits... saves you a fortune later since carbon isnt cheap to fix.

ngl i have this exact same issue... been dealing with this indecision for like two months now and honestly still havent found a clear answer that makes me want to pull the trigger.

  • i have spent way too much time comparing the dry carbon finish from the boutique tuners versus the high gloss look of the factory pieces and i just cant tell what will actually look better in person
  • the struggle is real between wanting that raw race aesthetic from the high-end carbon houses and the more refined lines of the oem options
  • still havent seen enough real-world photos of how the weaves actually line up between different manufacturers which is just making the whole process super frustrating and i am basically stuck at square one
