Just got a 2022 G70 3.3T here in Florida and Im ready to tune it. I see JB4 mentioned everywhere but then some guys say it causes limp mode without gapped plugs. Others say intakes are just for sound and no power. I've got about $1500 right now, so what's actually worth the money for real gains?
I've been running my 3.3T for about two years now and honestly, I'm super happy with how it's dialed in. When I first started, I spent a ton of time looking at data logs before I pulled the trigger on anything. For your $1500 budget, the Burger Motorsports JB4 Tuner Group 19 is basically the gold standard. I was satisfied with how easy it was to install compared to a full ECU flash like the LAP3 Uncle Chip Performance Tune. The JB4 gives you much better data logging which really helped me track boost spikes during those humid Florida summers. You definitely need the plugs tho. I went with HKS M45iL Super Fire Racing Spark Plugs gapped down to 0.022. Without them, I saw some minor misfires on Map 2 when the car really pushed, but once gapped, it's been rock solid with no limp mode issues at all. It's a technical necessity if you're bumping the boost. About the intakes... people say they're just for sound, but on my logs, I saw IATs stay way more consistent with the BMS Elite Dual Performance Intake. It breathes better at the top end than the stock boxes. If you want real gains, do the JB4 and plugs first. The power jump is huge and the car should have come from the factory feeling this fast. I've had zero complaints since finishing the setup.

It really helped with the heat soak issues i had during those humid summer months here. i found mine used on a Facebook group for a steal... honestly, always check the classifieds before buying new parts.
Saw this thread while having my coffee and had to chime in because my early tuning days were honestly a bit of a mess. When I first got my G70, I was so focused on just making it faster that I almost ended up with a bricked car. I remember pushing a custom map way too hard on a hot July night and the car went into this weird limp mode that took me forever to clear. Its scary when your dash lights up like a Christmas tree in the middle of nowhere and you're miles from home. Be careful about just chasing horsepower numbers tho... I learned the hard way that the drivetrain needs love too. If youre pushing more torque, your transmission is gonna start complaining. I really wish I had looked into a tune from Lozic much earlier in my build. It completely changed how the car handled the power and stopped that awkward gear hunting I was getting. Just look into getting a Lozic TCU Tune and you basically cant go wrong. Also, dont sleep on the handling. I spent all my cash on engine mods first, but then the car felt like a boat when I tried to actually use that speed. I would suggest looking into some gear from Eibach. You cant go wrong with Eibach Sway Bars for getting rid of that body roll. Just make sure youre thinking about the whole package and not just the engine... it sucks having a fast car that feels like its gonna fly off the road at every corner.
