Hey everyone! I just took delivery of my GMC Hummer EV Pickup and I’m absolutely loving it, but I really need to get the bed covered. Since the bed shape and the power tailgate are a bit unique, I’m struggling to find the perfect tonneau cover. I’m looking for something that balances security with easy access—ideally a hard folding or retractable option that won’t interfere with the MultiPro tailgate features. Has anyone here installed one yet? I’m curious about the fitment around those beefy sail panels and if water drainage is an issue. What specific brand or model would you recommend for the best durability and sleekest look on the Hummer?

For your situation, I'd definitely look into the LOMAX Professional Series Hard Tri-Fold Cover. I know everyone usually jumps to the big names, but honestly, the Hummer EV bed is a weird beast and spending $2k+ just doesn't always make sense. The LOMAX is great because it has a lower profile that doesn't mess with those massive sail panels, and it's way easier on the wallet than some retractable options.

One thing to be careful about is the water drainage... those sail panels tend to channel rain right into the corners. Make sure you're looking at how the seals sit. The LOMAX uses a reinforced aluminum design that's super durable but light enough to pop off if you need the full bed. Plus, it clears the MultiPro tailgate just fine without hitting the glass when folded. Just saw this thread and wanted to mention it cuz it's a solid value play without feeling cheap lol. gl with the new rig!! 👍

yo, congrats on the new truck! honestly, i feel u on the struggle... the bed on the hummer is such a beast with those sail panels. i've tried a couple things now and ngl, it's been a bit of a headache finding the "perfect" fit.

first, i tried the GMC Hummer EV Hard Rolling Tonneau Cover by REV. i thought going OEM would be the safest bet, but i was kinda disappointed tbh. it looks sleek, but the water drainage was not as good as expected... had some issues with leaking near the tailgate during a heavy storm. plus, it felt a bit stiff when trying to use the MultiPro features.

for your situation, i highkey recommend looking at the RetraxPRO XR Retractable Truck Bed Cover. i switched to this one and it's literally a game changer.

pros:
- super secure aluminum slats
- the T-slot rails are great for adding racks later
- doesnt mess with the tailgate sensors

cons:
- takes up a bit of bed space for the canister
- pricey af

another solid choice is the BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Truck Bed Cover. it's way better for full bed access since it folds all the way up, but it can block your rear view when it's open. anyway, if u want the best weather sealing, go with the Retrax. just make sure u clear the drain tubes often cuz those sail panels love to trap leaves and stuff. gl! 👍

To add to the point above: those sail panels really do make the bed geometry a total nightmare for most rail systems. I've been obsessed with the specs on these since launch and finally pulled the trigger on a setup that actually handles the hummers unique dimensions without rattling. I went with the DiamondBack HD Truck Bed Cover and honestly, it is absolutely amazing! It is built from 6061 T6 aluminum and handles a 1,600 lb load on top, which is just insane.

  • 12 deadbolt-style locking points for max security
  • Full neoprene weather stripping for heavy rain
  • Massive 53-inch opening clearance for easy access I love it because it basically turns the bed into a giant vault. Most covers feel like plastic toys, but this thing is beefy enough to match the trucks personality. The installation was a bit of a project, but the reliability is fantastic if you are actually using the truck for heavy gear. Definitely worth the extra investment imo.

Honestly, for the Hummer EV, I’d just stick with something from Rough Country or maybe Bak. They basically have the fitment figured out for those weird sail panels, so it’s probably your safest bet tbh.
