I finally took delivery of my Hummer EV SUV last week and honestly Im still getting used to the sheer size of this thing. Im planning a trip out to Moab in late September so I need to get it trail-ready pretty fast. Budget isnt a huge issue since I already spent a fortune on the truck itself but I dont want to buy junk. I saw some guys online talking about the factory recovery points being great but I'm worried about the weight. This thing is like 9,000 pounds and most of the standard recovery straps or kinetic ropes I see on Amazon are rated for way lighter rigs like Tacomas or Wranglers. I also read a bit about the underbody armor and whether the stock plates are actually enough or if I should look into more heavy duty aftermarket skid plates for the battery pack. Its a bit confusing because most off-road advice is for vehicles that weigh half as much.

Should I be looking for specific EV-rated recovery gear or will the standard heavy-duty stuff work? Also are there any must-have interior storage things for that massive frunk? I feel like everything just slides around in there when I'm driving... what are you guys actually bolting onto these things before you hit the dirt?

Had the same worries before my first trip. Im really happy with my heavy gear now.

Just saw this thread and honestly, be super careful with those factory skid plates. I took a buddy out last month and we heard this massive clunk on a rock... the aluminum plates are okay but they gouge really deep under that 9,000lb pressure. I looked into these upgrades for mine:
