Just got my 2024 Yukon Denali Ultimate and honestly Im terrified of even driving it out of the driveway lol. It cost so much and I have no idea how people keep these things looking so shiny. We live out in Denver so there is salt and gravel everywhere on the roads. I keep hearing people talk about PPF or ceramic coating but I dont actually know what those are or if they are worth it? I have maybe 2000 dollars to spend on stuff for the outside to protect it or make it look better. Are there specific mud guards or covers I should buy? Sorry if this is a dumb question I am just totally lost with all the options...
Unfortunately, I went the expensive route first and it was honestly not as good as expected. A whole grand went toward a "protective" spray that did absolutely nothing for the gravel pits on my hood. Such a letdown. Since you're in Denver, you gotta watch the front lip of the hood specifically because those sand trucks are brutal. I finally gave up on the fancy stuff and just got the Lund Aeroskin Hood Protector Smoke Finish. It actually stops the physical impact and looks sleek tho. Another thing... the salt out there will wreck your rear wheel wells if you arent careful. My last truck had major issues with getting super crusty back there. Putting in some Husky Liners Rear Wheel Well Guards Black is a cheap way to block all that road grime from getting into the frame. You'll spend way less than $500 total and actually protect the truck better than some overpriced coating would... save the rest of your cash for a good car wash pass.

Unfortunately, i wasted $1500 on a dealer ceramic coating that lasted maybe six months in the slush. honestly, skip it. i had issues with rock chips until i put on WeatherTech No-Drill Mud Flaps GMC Yukon Denali. way better than generic ones. for Denver winters, you really need those to save your paint.
