I finally joined the club! I picked up my Hyundai IONIQ 5 last week, and I am absolutely loving the drive so far. Since it’s such a unique EV with that spacious flat floor and the sliding center console, I’ve realized that my old universal accessories just aren't going to cut it. I want to keep the interior looking pristine while making the most of all that tech, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by the options out there.
I’ve been specifically looking into all-weather floor mats that actually fit correctly around the sliding console—most of the generic ones seem to block the movement. I'm also considering a matte screen protector because the fingerprints on that massive white bezel and dual-screen setup are already starting to drive me a little crazy! Also, for those who use the V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) feature, is the official Hyundai adapter the way to go, or are there reliable third-party versions that are better value?
I’d love to hear what you guys consider 'must-haves' for daily driving or road trips. Are there any specific trunk organizers or frunk liners that fit the space perfectly? What are the top recommended accessories you’ve actually bought and found useful?
Hey, congrats! For the V2L, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 V2L Connector is reliable but honestly the Lectron V2L Adapter for Hyundai IONIQ 5 is way better value. Tech-wise, it's basically just a passive pass-through, so no need to overpay. For the mats, TuxMat Hyundai IONIQ 5 Floor Mats are the gold standard because they don't interfere with the sliding rail at all. Also, the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Matte Screen Protector is essential for glare and fingerprints. Ngl, those are the best bang-for-buck upgrades imo... gl!
Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, after driving EVs for a few years now, I've learned the hard way that saving a few bucks on electrical gear is usually a bad move. Ngl, I've had issues with generic plugs getting way too hot, which is literally terrifying... definitely gotta keep a safety-first mindset with this car.
1. For V2L, I'd really stick with the Hyundai OEM V2L Connector Adapter because the internal heat shut-off is way more reliable than the cheap knockoffs I've tried.
2. Also, grab the BestEvMod Frunk Mat for Hyundai IONIQ 5 so your gear isn't sliding around and making noise—it's highkey annoying and can be super distracting while you're driving.
Idk, does anyone else feel like the third-party stuff is just a bit too risky?? But yeah, stay safe and enjoy the car! 👍

yo, congrats on the new ride!! i've been driving mine for over two years now and honestly, i get the struggle with that sliding console. for the mats, i highkey recommend looking into TuxMat or maybe WeatherTech. they make sets specifically for the trims with the sliding console that dont block the tracks, which is a lifesaver, right?
for the screens, a matte protector is basically mandatory lol. the fingerprints on that white bezel drove me crazy for months until i finally swapped. regarding V2L, i just use a random third-party adapter from Amazon and it works great for my coffee maker on road trips. i mean, the official hyundai one is nice but probably not worth the extra cash imo. also, definitely grab a generic trunk organizer... the space is so flat that groceries just fly around everywhere if u dont! gl anyway!
Just sharing my experience: I initially tried generic $80 mats but they were TRASH because they blocked the console movement.
Comparison:
- Generic ($80): Poor fit and clearance.
- 3D MAXpider Kagu All-Weather Floor Mats for Hyundai IONIQ 5 ($170): Superior fit and sliding console clearance.
Honestly, dont pay $400 for the official V2L. I’ve used the Lectron V2L Adapter for Hyundai IONIQ 5 ($130) and it’s basically identical. Still searching for a decent frunk liner tho... gl!
