I went through this exact same anxiety when I bought mine... that Black Opal paint is too nice to risk ruining the car. Houston heat is no joke for these VR30 engines, so if you want highway pulls without the car losing power, you gotta fix the cooling before anything else.

Its a total reliability mod that actually helps performance by preventing the car from pulling timing. Then I added the Burger Motorsports JB4 Tuner with Wireless Bluetooth Connection because you can just unplug it if you ever have to go in for major warranty work. I usually just kept it on Map 1 for a nice 40hp bump. It feels way more aggressive on the highway but stays smooth enough for a daily. Just make sure you get the Bluetooth kit so you can monitor your gauges on your phone while driving. It really helped ease my nerves seeing that everything was running healthy. Youll still have plenty of money left over from that 3k too.

Honestly, grab the AMS Performance Red Alpha Lower Downpipes for Infiniti Q50. In my experience, theyre the best bang for buck for highway pulls without ruining your commute with drone. Totally worth it.

My biggest concern for you is that some of these easy fixes arent as good as expected and can lead to thermal issues that might flag your car at the dealership. I think the best first step is defining your risk tolerance. Are you more focused on maintaining a 100% clean record for warranty purposes, or are you okay with a tiny bit of risk for better performance? Also, does your budget include tires, or are you strictly looking at engine components for those Houston pulls?
