Got a trip to the mountains in ten days and need a rack for my QX60 Sensory. I looked at Thule WingBars but heard the fit kit is a nightmare for these specific flush rails and the OEM ones look super cheap. Budget is about 600 bucks.
Which bars actually fit so I dont scratch the paint?
Had issues with cheap kits before.
I saved a ton using Malone AirFlow2 50in Aero Crossbars. Just make sure to watch that 165lb dynamic load limit tho...
Unfortunately, these flush rails are structurally difficult to mount onto. Generic kits often fail to sit securely. Theyll definitely scratch your paint if the load shifts during your mountain drive.
tl;dr: im in the exact same boat and still havent found a safe option. i am also dealing with this right now and its honestly frustrating. ive spent way too much time researching these flush rails but everything seems risky or prone to failing at high speeds. safety is my main concern so im hesitant to pull the trigger on anything ive seen so far. still looking for a solid answer too.
