Hey everyone! I just picked up a Q50 Black Opal Edition and I’m absolutely obsessed with that color-shifting paint. Since it’s basically a Red Sport under the hood, I want to add some exterior mods that actually improve performance or cooling rather than just being for show. I’m specifically looking at functional carbon fiber rear diffusers or maybe some subtle hood vents to help with the heat soak these VR30s get. I really want to keep the look clean and match the existing factory carbon trim without ruining the limited edition vibe. Does anyone have recommendations for aero kits that provide real downforce at higher speeds? What are your must-have exterior performance upgrades for this specific build?
Late to the party but this^! Option A: Seibon Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser (aero) vs B: Alpha Performance Q50 Carbon Fiber Cooling Plate (cooling). B is better value. Vents were honestly disappointing!
> I've had my Q50 for years, but honestly, heat soak is still a total nightmare.
+1 to what was said earlier. Heat soak is basically the VR30s kryptonite, tbh.
- Option A: Vents. Unfortunately useless for cooling iirc.
- Option B: AMS Performance Infiniti Q50 Q60 Red Sport 400 Heat Exchanger. Best for performance.
- Option C: Stillen Infiniti Q50 Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser. Better stability but pricey.
Option B is the smartest move, right? Just be careful with that rare paint!
I've had my Q50 for years, but honestly, heat soak is still a total nightmare. I once tried some 'functional' vents that unfortunately didn't help at all, which was really disappointing. Before suggesting parts, are you planning on tracking the car or just daily driving? And what's ur budget for real carbon?? I've found that most aero basically does nothing for actual downforce, but cooling is key... gl!
