What roof rack systems are you guys actually using on the QX60 Luxe because I am seriously losing my mind with this generic universal kit I bought off Amazon last month. Honestly im just so fed up with it because no matter how much I tighten the clamps it still whistles like crazy once I hit 50 mph and I dont feel safe putting my gear on it anymore. Im super excited because we finally booked our big family ski trip up to Killington in Vermont for the first week of February but now im panicking that I wont have a reliable way to get our gear up there. I have the 2022 Luxe trim with those flush side rails and it seems like nothing fits quite right without looking bulky or sounding like a jet engine on the highway. I really want something low profile that wont ruin the look of the car but actually stays secure when I load it up. My budget is probably around $500 or $600 if it actually works and doesnt require a degree in engineering to install in my freezing driveway. Should I just bite the bullet and go with the Yakima JetStream or is there a better Thule setup that doesnt cost a billion dollars? I just need something that isnt gonna fly off the roof while im doing 75 on the interstate with the kids in the back...

Like someone mentioned, noise is the worst. Im very satisfied with the Inno Aero Base Flush System. It works well, stays quiet, and only cost me about $450 total.

Honestly, ditch that cheap Amazon stuff! I went through the same headache until I grabbed the Yakima JetStream Black 50 inch Crossbars with the Yakima SightLine Towers for Flush Rails. It is seriously amazing how quiet they are at highway speeds! Install is super fast and they look fantastic on the flush rails. Definitely worth the cash for the peace of mind during your Vermont trip imo!

Late to the party but I actually prefer Thule for safety. The Thule WingBar Edge Black 95cm/95cm Flush Rail System is better because the internal torque limiter ensures the feet are clamped perfectly... the aerodynamics are way better than Yakima imo.

Just saw this and honestly, I was in the same boat last year. Im super paranoid about safety with my family in the car, so I finally settled on a setup that actually feels solid. Quick question tho, are you planning on keeping the rack on year-round or just for the ski trips?

  • Watch out for dynamic vs static weight limits
  • Cheap bolts strip way too easily Im really satisfied now that I stopped messing with those universal kits...
