Hey everyone! I’m officially a proud owner of a slightly used Jaguar I-PACE, and man, what a ride. I’ve been relying on the standard Level 1 mobile charger for the first week, but I’ve quickly realized that plugging into a standard wall outlet just isn't going to cut it for my daily commute. Waking up to only 40 extra miles of range after a full night of charging is giving me some serious range anxiety!

I’m looking to install a dedicated Level 2 home charging station in my garage as soon as possible. Since the I-PACE has an 11kW onboard charger (for the newer models like mine), I want to make sure I’m getting something that can actually take advantage of those speeds, or at least a solid 40-amp/9.6kW setup.

I’ve been looking at the ChargePoint Home Flex and the JuiceBox, but I’m curious if there are specific brands that play nicer with the Jaguar’s software or the Jaguar Remote app. I’ve heard some rumors about certain chargers having connectivity issues or failing to initiate the charging session properly with the I-PACE’s specific port configuration.

My budget is around $600-$800 for the unit itself (not including the electrician's install). I’d prefer something that is WiFi-enabled so I can track energy costs, and a cable length of at least 20 feet is a must because of where my panel is located relative to the car's charging port.

For those of you who have been living with the I-PACE for a while, which Level 2 charger have you found to be the most reliable and 'smart' for your home setup? Is it worth getting the official Jaguar branded one, or is an aftermarket option better?

Honestly, since you're focused on the 11kW onboard charger, safety should be your top priority when pulling that much power. In my experience, most people forget that running at high amps for hours creates serious heat. For your situation, I'd suggest looking at the Tesla Universal Wall Connector with a J1772 adapter or the Enel X Way JuiceBox 48 Smart EV Charging Station. Both are super reliable, but just make sure your electrician uses a high-quality circuit breaker to avoid any nuisance trips. Safety first, always!

Seconding the recommendation above! You definitely want to steer clear of the official Jaguar unit—it's just not worth the markup. Since you're being cost-conscious, I'd suggest checking out the Grizzl-E Smart Level 2 EV Charger. It's built like a tank, way under your $800 budget, and has that 24-foot cable you need. Just be careful with the WiFi setup; it can be a bit finicky, but once it's dialed in, it's rock solid for the I-PACE. Good luck!

Hi there! I totally get the range anxiety; I've been there when I first got my I-PACE. I wouldn't bother with the official Jaguar one, as it's way overpriced.

⚠️ **Warning:** Avoid the JuiceBox. I've seen way too many long-term users complain about recent software bugs and connectivity drops with the Jaguar Remote app.

Here's what I recommend:

1. ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 WiFi Enabled EV Charger - This is what I use. It's super reliable, has a 23-foot cable, and handles the 11kW speeds perfectly if you hardwire it.
2. Emporia Level 2 EV Charger 48 Amp with 24 foot cable - A great budget-friendly alternative that's very solid for tracking energy costs.

Honestly, the ChargePoint Home Flex just works and hasn't failed me once in three years. Good luck!

Hi there, and welcome to the I-PACE club! Honestly, you’re gonna love the car once you get the charging situation sorted—Level 1 is definitely a test of patience. Before I give advice on a specific unit, I'm curious about one thing: are you planning to have your electrician hardwire the charger directly into a 50 or 60-amp circuit, or are you looking for a plug-in unit that uses a NEMA 14-50 outlet?

I ask because to actually hit that 11kW max on the newer models, you'll need a 48-amp delivery, which requires a hardwired connection. Anyway, I've been driving my Jag for three years now and have tested a few setups. Since the ChargePoint Home Flex was already mentioned, I’d suggest looking at these technical alternatives:

* Wallbox Pulsar Plus 48 Amp Level 2 EV Charger: This is my personal favorite. It’s super compact, which is great for garage space, and the software is incredibly stable with the Jaguar's handshake.
* Grizzl-E Smart Level 2 EV Charger: If you want something built like a tank. It's less flashy but very reliable in terms of connectivity.

I've found the Wallbox plays much nicer with scheduled charging than the official Jaguar unit ever did! Let me know about the hardwire vs. plug-in plan and I can narrow it down.

Caught this thread today and man, you really gotta be careful with those 48-amp setups because the heat generation is no joke if your wiring isnt perfect. Honestly tho, instead of us all just guessing what fits your specific garage vibe, you should probably just search I-PACE home charging on YouTube. I saw this one incredibly detailed video last month that broke down the whole handshake process between the car and different units... cant remember the channel name but its like the first result. Funny enough, looking at charger specs always reminds me of when I tried to rewire my old XJ6s headlights back in the day. Ended up with a small fire and a very confused neighbor. I kinda miss that smell of old leather and oil though, EVs are way too sterile sometimes. Anyway, definitely check out the dedicated I-PACE subreddits for the real data logs on those connectivity bugs, but yeah.
