just got my 4xe and I'm beyond hyped to hit the mountains this weekend! I was looking at WeatherTechs but I heard the 4xe floor mold is slightly different from the gas version and some fits are wonky. my logic was TuxMats look classier but maybe they're a pain to clean? I'm just torn...

Youre right to be cautious about the fitment. The 4xe floor pan is definitely different due to the battery, so standard gas WL mats wont sit flush, especially in the rear. I would suggest sticking to brands that actually scanned the hybrid floor specifically or you'll end up with mats that slide around.

  • Be careful with TuxMat Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Custom Floor Mats. They look great and provide the most coverage, but they can be a bit tricky to clean. The material has a texture that loves to hold onto fine dust, so you might want to consider a dedicated interior cleaner for them.
  • If you want something easier to spray down, make sure to check out WeatherTech FloorLiner HP Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The HP series is a softer rubber compound that stays flexible. Avoid the classic ones as they tend to warp and leave gaps near the door sills after a few months. Just make sure the listing explicitly mentions the 4xe or PHEV drivetrain before you pull the trigger.

Saw this late last night but had to chime in since I spent weeks obsessing over the 4xe floor specs before mine arrived. Most people dont realize that the battery pack forces a literal redesign of the rear floor pan. If you buy the wrong ones, they just slide around and look like trash because the hump is totally different. I have tested a few setups and here is the technical breakdown:

  • Mopar All-Weather Floor Mats for Grand Cherokee 4xe: These are the safest bet for fitment because they are the literal OEM factory specs. The blue 4xe logo looks sharp, but honestly, the side walls are a bit shallow. If you spill a full drink or track in a ton of slush, it might overflow. Usually cost around $160-$180.
  • TuxMat Floor Mats for Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe: I ended up with these because the vertical coverage is unmatched. They basically cover every inch of exposed carpet. Be careful during the install though; you have to use these tiny plastic clips to tuck them under the plastic trim. If you dont seat them perfectly, they can actually catch on the power seat tracks. My advice is to double check the SKU specifically for the PHEV version. If it doesnt explicitly say 4xe, it wont sit flush in the back. Tbh, paying the premium for the laser-scanned mats saves you so much headache when cleaning mud out of the seat rails later... trust me on that one.

I'm super satisfied with my Husky Liners WeatherBeater Black Floor Mats. They snap in perfectly and basically hosing them down after my first muddy trail run was a breeze tho.
