Hey everyone! I finally took the plunge and picked up a brand new Jeep Wrangler 4xe last weekend. I’m absolutely loving the silent electric mode for my morning commute, but now that it’s officially sitting in my driveway, I’m realizing the interior is a bit of a blank slate. It’s my first Jeep, and while the stock cabin is nice, it feels like it’s missing those practical touches that make life easier on and off the road.

I’m planning to use this as my daily driver, but I definitely want to hit some muddy trails on the weekends. I’ve been browsing a few forums and sites, but the sheer volume of aftermarket accessories is a little overwhelming. I don’t want to clutter the cabin with junk, so I’m looking for the 'must-have' items that actually improve the experience or protect the investment.

I have a few specific concerns. First, I’m looking for all-weather floor mats, but I’ve heard rumors that the 4xe has a slightly different floor layout in the rear compared to the standard gas models because of the battery placement—does anyone know which brands fit the 4xe perfectly? Second, the center console feels like a deep 'black hole' where I’m already losing my keys and sunglasses; is there a specific organizer that doesn't block the USB ports? Lastly, since I plan on taking the top off during the summer, I’m a bit paranoid about glare or scratches on that big infotainment screen. Is a screen protector actually useful, or does it just make it harder to see in the sun?

I’m trying to keep this initial round of 'quality of life' upgrades under about $400. I really want parts that feel high-quality and won't rattle when I'm hitting bumps. For those of you who have been living with the 4xe for a while, what were the first three interior accessories you bought that you’d consider absolutely essential for a new owner?

basically i was worried about the fit on my 4xe too. honestly Mopar is the safest bet. here is how i compared them:
- Mats: Mopar 82215986 All-Weather Floor Mats for Jeep Wrangler 4xe vs WeatherTech. Mopar fits the battery hump way better.
- Console: Vancroiser Center Console Organizer for Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU vs cheap trays. Vancroiser doesnt block USBs.
- Screen: Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit for Jeep Wrangler 8.4-inch - stops glare!
sooo happy with these choices gl!

Congrats on the 4xe! Honestly, the electric torque is addicting ngl. I did a deep dive into the battery hump issue when I got mine cuz standard JL mats definitely wont fit back there. I would suggest comparing Rugged Ridge 11545.45 Floor Liner vs Husky Liners Weatherbeater Series 14011. The Rugged Ridge liners have those super deep "tread" patterns that look sick and hold a ton of mud, but honestly, the Husky Liners are easier to spray down and clean cuz they're smoother. Both are specifically molded for the 4xe battery layout, so they wont slide around. For that 'black hole' console, check out the Seven Sparta Center Console Organizer for Jeep Wrangler JL. It's way cheaper than the high-end brands and basically fixes the depth issue while keeping the USB port accessible. Lastly, if you're taking the top off, glare is your biggest enemy. I tried a glossy protector first and it was a mistake... well actually it was BLINDING. I switched to the RUIYA Jeep Wrangler 8.4-Inch Matte Screen Protector and it makes a huge difference in direct sunlight. Total for all three should be way under your $400 limit. good luck with the new rig!!

Quick reply while I have a sec. > I really want parts that feel high-quality and won't rattle when I'm hitting bumps. Honestly, the rattle factor is a huge deal for me too. Since the 4xe is so quiet in electric mode, you hear every little piece of plastic shifting around!!! When I was looking for my first mods, I was super paranoid about parts vibrating loose or somehow interfering with the high-voltage cabling under the rear seats. I spent way too much time researching the 3D MAXpider Kagu Series Floor Mats for 4xe because I read they have a patented friction-grip backing that wont shift. I mean, I really didnt want anything sliding around near the pedals or the battery box. The fitment around that rear hump is surgically precise and the material feels more like a solid composite than just a floppy rubber sheet. Quick tip:

  • Grab the JDMCAR Center Console Organizer because it uses silicone liners to stop keys from jangling.
  • For the screen, tempered glass handles the cabin heat and UV better than plastic film when the tops are off. Hope that helps keep things under that four hundred dollar budget!!!
