Yo! Honestly, I've tried many setups and for the 2024 hybrid, basically go with the FitcamX 4K Front and 1080P Rear Dash Cam for Kia Sportage 2023-2024. It looks totally OEM and is super budget-friendly compared to a BlackVue... i mean literally half the price. It uses the rain sensor power so no fuse tapping needed!! Plus no battery drain warnings since it doesnt pull much. Best $180 i ever spent tbh!!
Ok so, I'd actually suggest a different approach—not to totally disagree with the previous post cuz the FitcamX does look super slick, but I’ve been reading a lot lately and I’m kinda worried about the video sensor quality on those units compared to the big names.
Basically, the thing to know is that the 2024 Sportage Hybrid has a very sensitive 12V system. If you hardwire a camera for parking mode directly to the fuse box, the car might detect a drain and start throwing "battery discharge" warnings on your screen, which sounds like a total nightmare on a brand new ride.
If you want the best specs, I’d maybe suggest the VIOFO A229 Pro 4K Front and 2K Rear Dash Cam with Sony STARVIS 2. The Starvis 2 sensor is honestly amazing for night vision and reading plates... I think it's highkey better than BlackVue for the price? To solve the battery drain, I would suggest looking into a BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 8 Dash Cam Battery Pack. You just hide it under the seat and it charges while you drive. That way, your dash cam runs off the pack and not your car's battery at all, so no warnings!!
I’m still learning the fuse layout, but there is a panel by the driver’s left knee. Just be careful cuz some "switched" fuses in hybrids stay live for a while after you turn the car off. Anyway, just a thought, maybe its worth the extra gear to be safe? good luck!!
