Best heavy-duty side steps for a Kia Telluride SUV?

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a Kia Telluride, and while I love the ride height, my kids and elderly parents are having a bit of a struggle getting in and out safely. I’m looking for some heavy-duty side steps that can actually handle daily abuse without flexing or rusting after one winter. I’ve seen some flimsy universal options online, but I really want something sturdy that bolts directly to the frame and matches the Telluride’s rugged look. Does anyone have experience with specific brands like Westin or TAC for this model? I'm hoping to stay under $450 if possible. Which side steps offer the best grip and durability for a family-hauler?

Ok so, honestly, if you're trying to stay under $450, check out the TAC Side Steps fit 2020-2024 Kia Telluride 3 inch Texture Black Side Bars. In my experience, these are basically the best bang for your buck. They're super solid and lowkey look great too. Just make sure you get the *textured black* finish because it helps so much with grip when it's raining or snowing outside!!

Respectfully, I'd consider another option. Honestly, you gotta be careful with round bars because they get SO slippery when wet! Since safety is the goal, I'd actually avoid those tube styles entirely. Go for flat running boards with a full-length rubber grip instead. It's basically a much wider platform for your parents and kids to plant their feet safely. Way more stable than thin bars, seriously!! gl!

Ok so, I've tried many different setups over the years, and for your situation, I would suggest going with something that has a wide stepping surface. When you've got elderly parents and kids involved, you basically need a solid platform that wont flex under pressure. Honestly, stay away from those universal tube steps; they're highkey flimsy and rust out so fast in the winter.

In my experience, here's what actually works for the Telly:

- I've been running the Westin 27-6645 Sure-Grip Black Running Boards for a year now. They're super sturdy, bolt right up, and have that rubberized grip that's a lifesaver when it's raining.
- Another solid option is the TAC Side Steps 3 Inch Texture Black Side Bars. They're lowkey more affordable (usually under $250) but still heavy-duty enough for daily abuse.
- If you want that rugged look, look at the Tyger Auto TG-RS2K40218 Riser For Kia Telluride. It's got a great textured finish that hides scratches well.

Anyway, just make sure you get the frame-mount versions. It makes getting in sooo much easier. Good luck!
