Hey everyone! I just recently took delivery of my new Kia EV9, and I’m absolutely loving the spacious cabin and that signature flat floor. However, with the rainy season fast approaching and two messy kids frequently in the back, I’m getting a bit nervous about those factory carpet mats. They look nice for now, but I know they won’t stand a chance against muddy boots and the occasional spilled juice box.

I’ve been doing some digging online, but since the EV9 is still a relatively new model, the options seem a bit scattered. I’m specifically looking for something that provides total coverage, especially for the tricky areas like the sliding center console and the pass-through to the third row. I’ve looked into WeatherTech, but I’ve heard some people mention that TuxMat might offer a more 'premium' look that fits the EV9’s modern interior a bit better.

Has anyone here installed all-weather liners yet? I’m curious about the fitment around the seat tracks—I don’t want anything that bunches up or leaves gaps where sand and salt can settle. Does anyone have recommendations on which brand provides the best edge-to-edge protection for all three rows, particularly for the 6-passenger captain’s chair setup?

Respectfully, I'd consider another option before you drop $300+ on the boutique brands. Tbh, while TuxMat looks fancy, it can be a literal nightmare to clean once dried mud gets into those deep texture grooves. I’ve had a different experience using high-quality TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) liners that provide the same edge-to-edge protection without the "premium" tax.

Option A: Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats for Kia EV9 6-Passenger – Pros: super rugged, easy to hose off, and way cheaper. Cons: looks a bit more "industrial."
Option B: 3D MAXpider Kagu Series Floor Liners for Kia EV9 – Pros: best fitment around the seat tracks, doesn't bunch up, looks sleek. Cons: middle-of-the-road pricing.

I’d actually suggest the BestEvMod TPE Floor Mats for Kia EV9 if you're strictly budget-conscious. They're basically 95% of the quality for way less cash. When you're dealing with spilled juice, you want something you can literally rip out and spray down in 2 minutes flat. Anyway, hope that helps ur decision! 👍

yo, congrats on the new EV9! I totally get the anxiety with kids and that flat floor—it’s basically a magnet for crumbs and mud lol. I’ve tried a few setups over the years and for the EV9, I definitely recommend going aftermarket for that total coverage ur looking for.

Here’s my breakdown:

1. TuxMat All-Weather Floor Mats for Kia EV9 6-Passenger - These are hands down the winner. The coverage is *insane*—they go way up the sides so no sand or juice actually hits the carpet. Plus, they look super premium and match the modern interior way better than basic rubber mats, right?
2. WeatherTech FloorLiner for Kia EV9 - These are super durable and easy to hose off, but they feel a bit industrial for such a nice cabin. In my experience, they can sometimes leave small gaps near the seat tracks where salt settles.

Honestly, if u want that edge-to-edge protection for the captain's chairs and the pass-through, TuxMat is the way to go. They dont bunch up at all. GL with the rainy season! 👍

I'd actually suggest a different approach—though I agree factory carpets are useless with kids. In my experience, high-walled liners might actually jam the EV9’s sliding console tracks if they shift even a little bit.

* Use flexible TPE instead of rigid plastic
* Get a multi-piece 2nd row set for better track clearance

Technical fit matters way more than looks, tbh. Peace!

Building on the earlier suggestion, I am honestly feeling pretty bummed out about the mat situation too. I have had my EV9 for a bit now and it is frustrating that we are still hunting for something that actually covers the tracks properly without looking like cheap industrial plastic. My kids have already managed to grind snacks into the side gaps where my current liners just do not reach... it is a total mess.

  • Just look at anything from Husky Liners if they finally have their custom mold ready for this year.
  • Or maybe stick to a heavy duty rubber from one of the big off-road brands since they usually handle mud better. I really thought there would be better options by now for such a premium cabin, but unfortunately, everything seems like a compromise so far. If you find something that actually handles those tricky sliding console areas perfectly, please let me know. I am still searching for the one myself.

Like someone mentioned, that sliding console is the real trick to get right! I've been obsessed with keeping my car floors pristine since my first Kia, and ngl, the EV9 presents some unique challenges with that beautiful flat floor. I remember my old SUV had liners that looked great but were so thick the seat tracks got gunked up anyway... it was so frustrating! To really nail the performance you need, I had a couple of questions:

  • Is your priority total liquid containment for those juice boxes, or do you need something thinner that wont interfere with the console sliding every five minutes?
  • How much do you care about the texture underfoot? Some high-performance materials can feel a bit industrial or slippery when they get wet. Basically just trying to figure out if you need a bathtub style for spills or something more streamlined for the mechanical parts to move freely...

Just caught this thread and man, I totally feel your pain with the kids and that flat floor! Ive been a Kia guy for a decade and every new model presents a new DIY challenge for me. Like someone mentioned, that sliding console is a total nightmare if the mat is too thick or stiff. I actually spent my Saturday testing a few sets in my neighbors EV9 and here is what I found.

  • Lasfit All-Weather Floor Mats for Kia EV9: Honestly, these are amazing! The TPE material is way softer than the old-school stiff ones, so they dont have that cheap plastic feel. They fit the seat tracks perfectly and didnt bunch up once when we moved the 2nd row captain chairs back and forth. Love the texture too.
  • BestEvMod All-Weather Floor Mats for Kia EV9: These were a surprise hit for me. Theyre specifically designed for EVs and the coverage in the 3rd row pass-through is fantastic. They have this really aggressive backing that keeps them from sliding an inch, which is huge when you have kids jumping in and out of the back. Personally, Im leaning toward the Lasfit ones just because the cleanup is so easy... basically just spray and wipe. Both are fantastic alternatives to the more expensive brands tho!
