Im trying to find a new Kia Sportage or maybe a Soul before I move out of Austin next month. I checked the main Kia website and it shows a few dealers nearby like South Point and North Austin but their inventory online seems totally fake. I called one and they said the car was sold three days ago even though the site says its available right now. Plus I keep seeing those market adjustment markups on some forums that say to avoid certain lots but they dont say which ones are actually good. My budget is strictly $35k out the door. Is there a better site to see real-time inventory or do I just have to drive around to every lot in the city?
Just caught this today. @Reply #1 - good point! In my experience shopping the I-35 corridor, those dealer portals are basically bait. Over the years, I've found that tracking specific VINs through third-party sites like CarEdge shows the real days-on-lot. Honestly, check out the Kia Seltos EX FWD too. It fits that $35k OTD budget much more comfortably than a marked-up Sportage does lately.
Unfortunately, dealer inventory sites are basically useless for real-time tracking. I had issues with Austin dealers when hunting for a Kia Sportage EX FWD because their online feeds lag by days. My tip is to ignore the public site and email the internet sales department directly for their incoming log. Its the only way to snag a Kia Soul S 2.0L under $35k without wasting gas.
