Best cargo organizers for a family-sized Lexus TX 500h?

We just picked up our TX 500h, but with the third row up, groceries keep sliding everywhere! I need an organizer that fits the hybrid’s unique floor dimensions while still allowing access to the underfloor storage. Are there any custom-fit dividers or collapsible bins you recommend for keeping sports gear and bags secure?

Just sharing my experience: I went through this last year with our 500h and honestly, it was so frustrating at first. I tried those fancy custom dividers everyone raves about, but they were way too expensive for what they actually did. Plus, most of them totally blocked the underfloor hatch which is a huge pain when you need to grab the charging cable or tools.

I actually ended up returning a few pricey setups because they just didn't sit right on the hybrid floor. Eventually, I found that Starling's Car Trunk Organizer Adjustable 3 Compartments was the best budget-friendly fix. It's collapsible, so if I dont need it, I just flatten it and it doesn't get in the way of the floor door. For the smaller loose stuff, I use some Budget-Friendly Mesh Cargo Nets with Hooks that I found for like twenty bucks. They're not as high-end as the Lexus gear, but they get the job done without breaking the bank. Ngl, it’s not a perfect "custom" look, but for groceries and soccer balls? It works great!! peace

For your situation, safety is literally my biggest concern with the hybrid floor layout. You gotta be careful not to block airflow or put too much weight on the battery cover.

I would suggest these two options:

1. Starling's Car Trunk Organizer with Adjustable Straps - This is great cuz you can actually anchor it down so it won't fly forward during a hard stop. It's super sturdy and stays put even when the 500h's instant torque kicks in.

2. Rola 59001 M.O.V.E. Rigid Base Organizer - This one is built like a tank. It's got a non-slip bottom that's really reliable for heavy groceries, but make sure to position it so it doesn't slide into the seat anchors.

Personally, I'm cautious about those huge bins cuz they hide the floor hatch... but yeah, just make sure whatever you get is secured properly tho! gl!

For your situation, I've tried a few setups in these hybrid Lexus trunks over the years and honestly, most of them suck because they block the floor hatch. If u want to keep the underfloor storage accessible, here is my expert take:

1. YAKIMA EXO GearLocker 10 Gallon Cargo Box vs Veto Pro Pac CP4 Graded Tool Bag
- The Yakima is great but it's basically overkill and too bulky for daily groceries tbh.
- I personally use the Lexus Genuine Cargo Divider PT924-48240 cuz it actually stays put.

2. TrunkShield Custom Fit Cargo Liner for Lexus TX 500h vs WeatherTech Cargo Liner High-Side
- The WeatherTech is usually my go-to, but unfortunately, their current TX hybrid fit is kinda clunky when ur trying to lift the floor panel. It's highkey annoying.

Best bet? Stick with the Lexus Genuine Integrated Cargo Net PT347-48240 for the eggs and milk, plus some InstaCrate Collapsible 12 Gallon Storage Crates that u can just fold flat when you need to dig into that hybrid battery/storage area underneath. Good luck!!

Ok so, congrats on the new ride! Honestly, the TX 500h is a beast, but you're totally right about that cargo space... with the third row up, it's basically a sliver of room back there. I mean, it's great for the kids but a nightmare for eggs and milk sliding around lol.

In my experience, you really gotta be careful with the hybrid floor because the battery cooling and underfloor access are kinda specific. I was super cautious about blocking anything, so I did a ton of research before buying stuff. For your situation, I would suggest looking at these specific options that I've been pretty satisfied with:

* Lexus Genuine Cargo Net - Envelope Style PT912-48240: This is the safest bet tbh. It's literally made for the TX and keeps bags pinned against the back seat so they don't tumble out when you open the hatch.
* Fortem Car Cargo Organizer with Reinforced Handles: This one is great cuz it's collapsible. When I need to get into the underfloor storage, I just slide it over or fold it down. It fits the width of the TX perfectly without being too bulky.
* Starling's Car Trunk Organizer - Adjustable 3 Compartments: I like this one cuz it has a non-slip bottom. It's highkey stable even when I'm taking corners a bit fast.

I guess my only warning is to make sure you don't overload the organizers right over the floor latches, just so you don't strain the mechanism. But yeah, these have worked well for me and I've had no complaints so far. Hope that helps keep your groceries in one piece! gl!

Congrats on the new TX! Honestly that hybrid floor is such a tricky thing to work with because of the battery placement and the way the panels fit together. I have been super cautious with mine because I really dont want to mess with the airflow or put weird pressure on the underfloor compartment lids since the hybrid system is right there. Quick question before I share too much though, are you mostly hauling soft grocery bags or like heavy hard-shell sports equipment? And do you usually keep both sections of the third row up or just one side? It totally changes how you have to brace things back there. In my experience I actually went the DIY route after looking at those expensive kits because I was sooo worried about the fit:

  • I started by using some heavy duty non-slip mesh from a hardware store just to see where the slide points were
  • Then I basically hacked together some modular dividers using some light materials I had in the garage
  • I realized pretty fast that anything too rigid feels like it might crack the floor panels if you hit a big bump It was a whole process of trial and error for me because I am always a bit uncertain about the technical side of the hybrid layout and didnt want to block the cooling vents. I ended up with something really simple that doesnt block the hatch but it took me a few weekends of tweaking to feel safe about it. Tbh I just feel better knowing I didnt overspend on a pro setup that might have actually restricted access to the battery area.
