I just picked up a new Lexus RX and want to keep that luxury cabin looking pristine. I’m specifically looking for high-quality floor liners and seat covers that don't look cheap. Does anyone have experience with custom-fit brands like WeatherTech or TuxMat for this model? I'm also curious if a center console protector is worth it. What are your must-have interior accessories?

> I'm also curious if a center console protector is worth it. Coming from a background where I deal with material longevity, I’m pretty picky about what I put on my interior surfaces. One thing people overlook is plasticizer migration—basically, when the chemicals in a cheap protector react with the factory clear coat on the console. It can lead to some nasty permanent hazing or stickiness if the materials aren't high-spec. I've seen some "protective" covers actually cause more damage than they prevent because they trap grit underneath and create a micro-abrasion effect during normal driving vibration, which is the opposite of what ur going for. To give some better feedback, are you more worried about physical scratches from keys and watches, or is it more about UV protection and preventing fading for the long haul? Also, do you have kids or pets that are gonna be climbing around the cabin? I usually prioritize reliability over aesthetics because replacing a ruined OEM panel is way more expensive than any accessory you'll find online, honestly.

So basically, I spent way too much time researching this for my own RX lol. Here's what I recommend: TuxMat Custom Floor Mats for Lexus RX are the clear winner for luxury. WeatherTech is durable but looks kinda industrial—TuxMat actually matches the premium cabin vibes because they have that quilted leather look and cover way more of the carpet. Honestly, just skip seat covers if you have the semi-aniline leather; they mess with the side airbags and heating/ventilation... just be careful with indigo jeans!! Oh, and definitely get a Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Lexus RX 14-inch Infotainment to avoid those nasty fingerprints on the big screen. Cheers!

Wow, congrats on the new RX! Truly an amazing vehicle choice. Before I share some thoughts on the brand comparisons for interior protection, I gotta ask—which interior trim did you end up going with? Is it the NuLuxe or the real leather? Knowing that helps a ton with the specific recommendations since the surfaces react differently. Honestly, every time I sit in an RX cabin, I just get reminded of why I love Lexus so much. I took mine on a six-hour road trip to the coast last summer and the Mark Levinson system is just... wow. I literally sat in the driveway for twenty minutes after I got home just to finish a concert recording because the acoustics are that good. I actually ended up staying at this boutique hotel that had the narrowest parking garage I have ever seen in my life, I was sweating bullets trying not to curb the wheels the whole time! Anyway lol, sorry I totally went off on a tangent there.

This^ Also wanted to add some thoughts from a budget perspective. Honestly, when I first got my setup, I was super paranoid about scratching the center console and the piano black trim. I'm kinda a beginner with car mods, but I did a deep dive into the technical specs of the materials. Basically, some of the high-end protectors use a specific type of TPU that's way overpriced imo.

I ended up getting a generic silicone-based cover for my console and it has worked great for a fraction of the cost. One thing tho—be careful with the fitment around the latch. I noticed that if the material is even 1mm too thick, it messes with the sensor that tells the car the console is closed. It's a realy small detail but super annoying if it keeps clicking!! Plus, I found that skipping the expensive brand-name leather cleaners and just using a damp microfiber cloth is actually better for the matte finish. Has anyone else noticed the console latch being finicky? Anyway, hope that helps with the budget! 👍
