Honestly Im just so stressed out right now because I just picked up my new 2024 NX 450h+ and its already looking like a total mess inside. I spent so much money on this car and the dealer talked me into their protection package which was basically just a spray that does absolutely nothing to stop real dirt. I live in Seattle so its constantly raining and my kids are tracking in mud every single day and it's driving me crazy. The piano black console is already covered in tiny scratches from just setting my phone or keys down once or twice it is so incredibly fragile and I'm honestly ready to just cover it with duct tape or something at this point.

I really need to find something that actually works because I feel like I'm failing at keeping this car nice and it's only been two weeks. I've got a big family road trip to Oregon coming up next weekend and I need to get this sorted before the cabin is completely trashed. I'm looking to spend maybe 400 or 500 dollars total right now if that helps.

Does anyone have recommendations for:

  • heavy duty floor mats that actually fit the phev floor since the battery makes it different than the gas model
  • something to cover that awful glossy black plastic console before I lose my mind
  • seat covers that dont look cheap or ruin the seat heaters

What are the absolute best interior protection accessories for the Lexus NX PHEV specifically?

I went through the same panic when I brought home my 450h+. Honestly, these held up so well on my last trip. For the floor, Lexus All-Weather Floor Liners for NX 450h+ are the best because they fit the battery hump perfectly.

To add to the point above: I had a pretty disappointing experience with the factory liners too. They just didnt offer the coverage I expected for a car this expensive, especially considering the premium we pay for the PHEV. I live near the coast and the mud was still getting onto my carpet with the OEM ones because the edges are too low. I ended up swapping them out for something more heavy-duty for my own peace of mind.

  • WeatherTech FloorLiner HP for Lexus NX 450h+
  • Unlike the thinner mats, these have high walls that actually contain spills. They fit the 450h+ floor layout perfectly, which is tricky with that battery hump under the seats.
  • BASENOR ABS Carbon Fiber Style Center Console Cover
  • I tried the film protection first but it was honestly a mess to install and didnt feel sturdy enough. This hard shell just snaps over the piano black and feels way more secure for daily use. It stops the clicking sounds and scratches from my keys instantly.
  • EKR Custom Fit Neoprene Seat Covers for Lexus NX
  • These are great because they are water-resistant but still allow the seat heaters to work properly. Just be careful during the install... if you dont route the straps correctly, you might interfere with the seat adjustment motors or the side airbags, which is a major safety concern. I spent about 450 dollars on these three items total and its made the cabin feel much more kid-proof. It was a bit of a process to get everything fitted correctly tho.

Just catching up on this thread. ^ This. Also, you might want to consider checking out some of the dedicated Lexus owner groups on Facebook or the ClubLexus forums before you drop any cash. I think I saw someone warning that certain seat covers can actually mess with the occupancy sensors or even the side airbags, which would be a total nightmare. Not 100% sure on that but IIRC the tech in these seats is super sensitive. I would suggest being really careful with the floor mats too... someone told me that if you block the battery cooling vents under the rear seats it can cause major issues. Just make sure to look for stuff specifically designed for the 450h+ and not just the base model. tl;dr: check owner forums for airbag safety and battery vent clearance before buying.

Exactly what I was thinking
