I just took delivery of my new Lexus NX 450h+, and I’m absolutely loving the drive so far! However, I’ve quickly realized that to really make the most of this PHEV lifestyle, I need to level up my accessory game.
On the charging side, the included Level 1 cable is just a bit too slow for my daily commute. I’m looking for a solid Level 2 home charger—does anyone have experience with specific brands like ChargePoint or Grizzl-E for the NX? I’m also curious if there’s a preferred portable J1772 cable that fits neatly in the under-floor storage compartment without taking up too much room.
As for the cargo area, I want to keep that pristine interior protected. I’m torn between the official Lexus all-weather liners and aftermarket options like TuxMat. Also, has anyone found a cargo net or organizer that actually stays in place during turns? My groceries are currently sliding all over the place! I'm hoping to stay around a $700 budget for both charging and cargo gear. What are the 'must-have' accessories you’ve added to your NX PHEV to make it more functional?
For your situation, I remember the grocery slide being real!! Honestly, you dont need to spend a fortune to get a great setup. - Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 EV Charger NEMA 14-50 is like $350 and very robust.
- TuxMat Lexus NX All-Weather Floor Mats are definately better than OEM.
- Get the Lexus PT347-78220 Cargo Net for groceries. Lesson learned? Buying aftermarket saves cash for a better charger!!
Yo, congrats on the new ride!! I had a moment to think about this more and I'd actually suggest a different approach for the charger. While the Grizzl-E mentioned earlier is tough, its kinda basic. If you want better tech for your $700 total budget, I'd highkey recommend the Emporia Level 2 EV Charger 48 Amp. It's super reliable and the energy monitoring is actualy amazing for tracking your PHEV costs so you know exactly what you're spending on juice. For the back, I'm gonna disagree on the TuxMat for the cargo area specifically. Its a bit overkill for a trunk imo. I've used the 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Cargo Liner and the fit is perfect plus it doesn't look like a rugged truck mat, so it keeps that Lexus vibe. To stop the sliding, you gotta get the Lexus Genuine Cargo Net Envelope Style. It’s way better than generic organizers cuz it hooks directly to the factory points and wont budge during turns. TL;DR: Grab the Emporia Level 2 EV Charger 48 Amp and the 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Cargo Liner to stay under budget while getting better tech and a cleaner look! gl!

I've been using a basic hardwired charger for about a year now and it's been bulletproof. Tbh I skipped all the smart features and wifi stuff because I've had bad luck with apps glitching out in the past. For me, reliability was the priority, so I just wanted something that delivers power without needing a firmware update or an internet connection. Regarding the trunk, I found that the most important thing is having a liner with a really grippy, rubberized surface. I tried a slicker plastic one first and everything just slid around like it was on ice. The heavy rubber one I have now holds everything in place much better. For groceries, I actually stopped using nets. I just keep two large collapsible crates back there. They're heavy enough that they dont budge during turns, and it makes unloading way faster since I can just carry the whole bin. Its been a lot more practical than messing with hooks every time I go to the store.
