Hey everyone, I finally joined the club! I just took delivery of a 2024 Lexus RX 350 with the Macadamia interior, and man, it is beautiful. However, the light color is already making me a little nervous. I want to enjoy the car, but I also want to make sure I am protecting my investment since I plan on keeping this vehicle for at least the next six or seven years.

Between my daily commute and hauling the kids to soccer practice on the weekends, the interior is going to see a lot of action. I am especially worried about the carpets and the back of the front seats. I have been looking into floor mats first. Should I just stick with the Lexus OEM all-weather mats, or are brands like TuxMat or WeatherTech actually better at covering those high-wear areas near the gas pedal? I really want something that looks integrated and not like an afterthought.

Another thing is the massive 14-inch touchscreen. It is a focal point of the cabin, but it is already covered in smudges after just a few days of use. Has anyone found a screen protector that does not ruin the look or feel of the display? I am also curious about door sill protectors. I noticed my kids tend to step right on the painted part of the frame when they climb in, and I can already see that becoming a scratched-up mess in a few months.

I also want to protect the cargo area. We often throw strollers or grocery bags back there, and I am worried about scuffing the side plastics or staining the floor. If you have any specific brands or products that have worked well for your RX, I would love to hear about them. I am looking for a balance between heavy-duty protection and that premium Lexus aesthetic.

  • Floor mats (OEM vs Aftermarket)
  • Screen protectors for the infotainment
  • Cargo liners and sill guards

What are the top three interior protection accessories you think every new RX owner should buy immediately to keep the cabin looking brand new?

yo, congrats on the new ride!! i totally get the anxiety with that macadamia interior... it looks premium but basically attracts dirt just by looking at it lol. i've spent way too much time looking at the technical specs of TPE vs rubber compounds for mats so i feel u on wanting the best value without sacrifice. > What are the top three interior protection accessories you think every new RX owner should buy immediately to keep the cabin looking brand new? ngl, you dont have to spend $300 on floor mats. since youre budget conscious, i suggest the Auxko All Weather Floor Mats for 2024 Lexus RX350. they use a high-density TPE material (thermoplastic elastomer) that's basically identical to the big brands but costs around $125. they have the high edges to catch spills from the soccer kids which is crucial for those light carpets. for that 14-inch screen, i'd skip the expensive brands and go with the LFOTPP 14-inch Navigation Screen Protector for 2023 2024 Lexus RX. it's usually under $20 and has a 9H hardness rating. it honestly makes the smudges way easier to wipe off and reduces the static that attracts dust to the display. lastly, for the door sills... instead of a custom kit, just get a roll of VViViD 3M Clear Paint Protection Film 4 Inch x 60 Inch. it's like $15-20. you can cut it to size and it's 8 mils thick, so it'll handle the kids stepping on the painted frame for years. plus, for the cargo area, the Mixsuper Cargo Liner for 2023 2024 Lexus RX350 is a solid budget pick at around $65. it fits the dimensions perfectly and saves the side plastics from stroller scuffs. basically, you can get the whole car protected for under $230 if you shop smart... way better than paying dealership prices haha. gl with the new lexus!! peace

> What are the top three interior protection accessories you think every new RX owner should buy immediately to keep the cabin looking brand new? oh man, congrats on the macadamia interior! it looks sick but yeah its gonna be a nightmare with kids. honestly i was super disappointed with the Lexus RX Genuine All-Weather Floor Liners. for like $170 they dont cover the carpet under the gas pedal properly... so annoying. i switched to TuxMat Floor Mats for 2024 Lexus RX which are like $200 but they literally cover every inch of carpet. highkey worth the extra few bucks. for the screen, dont pay for the dealer coating. just get a Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for 14-inch Lexus Infotainment. its usually $30 and feels smoother than the original glass. also for the door sills, skip the pricey metal guards and just use XPEL Universal Door Sill Guard Clear Protection Film. its like $20 and basically invisible. gl!

Just sharing my experience: I went through this last year with a light interior and honestly it is a major struggle keeping it pristine, right? I spent way too much time looking into the technical specs of different materials cuz I was worried about fitment precision. I actually found that TuxMat Floor Mats for 2024 Lexus RX 350 covers way more of the vertical carpet than the factory ones do... like, it literally goes all the way up the side walls which is huge for kids and muddy soccer cleats. Quick tips for the cabin:

  • Use a high-quality microfiber with ScreenMom Screen Cleaning Kit to handle those oily fingerprints on the big screen without scratching the finish.
  • Check out the Canvasback Cargo Liner for Lexus RX 350 because it sticks via velcro and doesn't look like a giant plastic tub in the back. I am still kinda learning about the best leather sealants myself but definitely be careful with harsh chemicals on that light Macadamia color. So yeah, basically just focus on total coverage first!! cheers

Totally agree with the above! Safety-wise, 3D MAXpider Kagu Series Floor Mats are my go-to cuz they dont slip. For a budget win, Enovoe Kick Mats are super cheap for those seat backs.

Building on the earlier suggestion about those TuxMats, I totally agree they are the gold standard for coverage, but I have been thinking about that Macadamia interior. It is stunning but you gotta be careful with daily use.

  • Watch out for denim dye transfer on those light seats. I would suggest a coating like Gtechniq L1 Leather Guard to help prevent those blue stains from setting in. It is a lifesaver for light leather.
  • For the floor, Husky Liners WeatherBeater Floor Mats are a great alternative if you want something more rugged than TuxMat but with better coverage than the Lexus ones.
  • Make sure to protect the sills with something substantial like Lexus RX Genuine Door Sill Protectors in stainless steel. The kids will definitely step there every single time and film dont always hold up. Honestly, just keep a pack of high-quality microfibers in the center console for that screen. It is a smudge magnet but you will get used to it... congrats on the new RX!

@Reply #5 - good point! honestly that denim dye transfer is the real deal with the macadamia interior... it can get ugly fast. i actually tried those high-end leather coatings on my last lexus and ended up a bit disappointed tbh. they worked okay but kinda changed the texture of the seats, making them feel a bit too slick or plasticky for my liking. i prefer the natural feel of the material. imo, you cant beat a simple diy approach.

  • keep a few soft cloths in the door pocket - do a quick wipe every few days - stay on top of the vacuuming for the door sills, i bought a big roll of generic clear protection film and spent a Saturday afternoon custom cutting pieces myself. it took some patience and a lot of soapy water to get the bubbles out, but im way more satisfied with the result. it looks totally invisible compared to those bulky plastic guards. safety-wise, i'm also a bit nervous about some of those thick aftermarket mats shifting around near the pedals, so i've just been extra careful with the factory ones. been a few months and everything still looks factory fresh... definitely worth the elbow grease if you want to keep that premium feel.
