Where do you guys usually look for used Lexus deals besides the obvious big sites?

Im trying to track down a 2018-2020 RX 350 and been staring at AutoTrader for weeks but the prices in the Dallas area seem so inflated right now. I'm also checking the official Lexus L/Certified site because I want that peace of mind but the markups are insane. My budget is strictly $35k and I need to buy something by the end of next month before my current lease is up. Is it worth looking at Carvana or should I stick to private sellers on Facebook? I feel like private sellers are risky for a luxury car but the savings might be worth it...

I'd definitely skip private sellers. That time I bought an RX privately, the guy cleared a major transmission code right before I showed up... ended up costing me thousands in repairs. For $35k, maybe try CarMax. It's a decent option if you want actual protection.

> My budget is strictly $35k and I need to buy something by the end of next month before my current lease is up. Tbh, being in that spot with a strict budget and a ticking clock is stressful. Turns out the best deals actually come from high-end non-Lexus luxury lots. Basically, if someone trades in a Lexus at a Mercedes or BMW dealer, that dealer just wants it gone. They dont want a Lexus sitting on their lot messing with their brand image... it looks better to have their own brand out front. Found a killer deal on a Lexus RX 350 2019 Base at a local Audi shop because they priced it to move quickly. The pro is the lower price, but the con is their techs dont know the car as well as Lexus guys do. You get the luxury savings without the Lexus boutique markup. Regarding Carvana, it’s kinda a coin flip. Bought a Lexus RX 350 2018 AWD for my sister from them last year. The convenience is 10/10 and the no-haggle pricing fits your $35k limit perfectly. However, the inspection quality can be hit or miss. We had to send the first one back because the brakes were shot, tho the second one was perfect. It’s great for speed, but you gotta be ready to reject the car on day one if it feels off. Another sleeper move is checking local credit union car sales. Places like Navy Federal or local DFW ones often have member-only portals. They usually price them right at book value without the dealer fluff. It’s way less stressful than the Facebook Marketplace jungle where people are just flipping junk. If you stick to the non-brand dealers or credit unions, you'll likely hit that $35k target without settling for a high-mileage wreck.

I spent months hunting for mine and eventually found one through the ClubLexus forums instead of a dealer. Dallas is a tough market for a Lexus RX 350 2018-2020 AWD.

  • check the ClubLexus classifieds
  • expand search to Houston
  • browse Lexus Enthusiast boards Private sellers on enthusiast forums usually have maintenance records, so it's a decent option compared to Facebook marketplace.
