I’m finally joining the Lexus family! I just put a deposit on a new NX 350h, and I’m beyond excited to pick it up next week. Since this is my first luxury compact SUV, I really want to keep it looking pristine from day one, but the dealership’s list of official add-ons is pretty overwhelming (and expensive).
I’ve been doing some research, and I’m definitely leaning toward getting some high-quality all-weather floor mats. I’m curious if people prefer the OEM Lexus ones or if brands like TuxMat provide better coverage for the dead pedal area. Also, that massive 14-inch touchscreen is gorgeous, but it seems like a total fingerprint magnet. Has anyone installed a tempered glass screen protector that doesn't kill the display's clarity?
Lastly, I’m debating whether the rear bumper protector and mudguards are worth the extra cost for preventing scuffs and rock chips during daily commutes. I’d love to hear from long-term owners—looking back at your first few months, which accessories turned out to be absolute must-haves, and were there any you regretted buying? Specifically, are there any aftermarket gems that fit the NX interior better than the factory options?
Yo! Congrats on the new 350h. I went through this last year when I got mine and spent way too much time comparing technical specs lol. For the floors, I looked at the Lexus NX All-Weather Floor Liners vs TuxMat Floor Mats for Lexus NX 350h. Honestly, the TuxMats are around $200 and cover way more of the carpet than the OEM ones for basically the same price. It reallyyy helps save the dead pedal area from salt and grime. Also, that 14-inch screen is a total fingerprint magnet. I grabbed a Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Tempered Glass Screen Protector for 14-inch Lexus Interface for about $35. It keeps the clarity sharp and actually makes cleaning way easier. I skipped the $150 dealer mudguards and found A-Premium Splash Guards for Lexus NX350h for like $40. They fit perfectly and saved me over $100!! It's sooo much better than overpaying at the dealership... gl! peace
Hmm, I've had a different experience regarding the mats and screen protectors. While everyone loves the high coverage of the brands mentioned earlier, I highkey suggest looking at WeatherTech FloorLiner HP for Lexus NX. Basically, safety is the biggest thing for me, and I've found the material grip on these to be way more reliable near the pedals. You dont want anything sliding around down there... it's actually a huge risk if the mat bunches up. Also, I’m kinda against screen protectors for that 14-inch display. They often add glare that makes it hard to see in direct sun. Here’s what I’d grab instead for long-term protection: * Lexus Rear Bumper Protector (Stainless Steel) — way better for heavy luggage than the plastic versions.
* Lexus NX Cargo Tray — literally a lifesaver for grocery spills in the trunk.
* 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film (PPF) — honestly more effective for chips than mudguards are. Anyway, im super excited for you!! The 350h is such a smooth ride. Peace!
Seconding the recommendation above! Unfortunately, I had issues with my current setup's guard cuz the adhesive bond failed. Huge waste of cash compared to the cheap stuff I used later, your gonna love it!
Honestly, congrats on the 350h! I've been detailing my own rigs for a decade, and the biggest lesson is that dealer "protection packages" are usually a total rip-off. They basically slap on a cheap sealant and call it a day. If u really want that pristine look, I highly suggest doing a DIY ceramic coating. I spent a Saturday doing a light polish and applying CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 to my NX. The hydrophobic properties and 9H hardness are night and day compared to factory wax, and it keeps the paint looking *deep*. Quick tip: for the scuff/chip concern, look into XPEL Universal Door Sill Guard or door edge kits. Installing them yourself is super easy if u have a heat gun and some steady hands. Just make sure the surface prep is 100% clean with an IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipe-down first or the adhesive wont bite correctly. It's way more satisfying (and way cheaper) than the dealer's markups... plus u actually know the surface was prepped right before the film went on.
Sooo, first off, huge congrats on the 350h!! I’m pretty new to the Lexus family too, but I’ve basically spent the last month obsessing over these exact accessories lol. TL;DR: Go with TuxMat for the floors, get a screen protector ASAP, and maybe skip the pricey dealer mudguards for aftermarket ones. Honestly, for the floor mats, TuxMat is highkey better than the OEM ones. They literally cover every inch of the carpet, including the dead pedal area which keeps things way cleaner. As for that massive screen? It’s a TOTAL fingerprint magnet. I put on a tempered glass protector and it doesn't mess with the clarity at all... plus it makes it way easier to wipe down. I’d say mudguards are worth it too just to avoid rock chips on the side. I’m still figuring some stuff out myself, but those were my absolute must-haves. Enjoy the ride, it's such a vibe! Cheers
