Does anyone know which cargo organizer actually fits the deep trunk of a Lincoln Navigator L without sliding around every time I take a turn because I am seriously about to lose my mind trying to pack for this trip. We are heading out from Chicago to the Smoky Mountains next Thursday and I have 4 kids plus two goldendoodles and the amount of stuff we are bringing is just ridiculous. I thought having the L version with the extra space would make it easy but honestly everything just rolls around back there and it is a total mess.
I have narrowed it down to a few things but I cant decide which is actually worth the money. First is the WeatherTech CargoTech system with those plastic corner blocks that grip the carpet. They look cool but do they actually hold heavy stuff like a massive cooler or do they just pop off when you hit a bump? Then there is this Drive Auto Products collapsible bin thing I saw on Amazon which looks okay but I am worried it is gonna be too small for the Navigators floor and it might just flip over since the trunk is so deep.
Lastly I looked at the official Lincoln cargo organizer from the dealer but they want like 150 bucks for it and it looks kinda flimsy for that price? I am trying to stay under $200 total for the whole setup. I need to get this ordered like tonight so it gets here before we leave. My wife wants the bins for groceries and snacks but I need something that can actually hold down the heavier gear and suitcases. Is it better to get one big bin or a bunch of those corner blocks? If youve used any of these in a full size SUV please tell me if they actually stay put or if Im just throwing money away...
Building on the earlier suggestion, Id actually be careful with the cargo net. It is often a total hassle with heavy suitcases and gear. I would suggest:
Yo! First of all, the Navigator L is an absolute beast for a Smokies trip! You are gonna love that extra room once you get it dialed in. Honestly, dont even waste your time or money on the dealer one... it is totally flimsy compared to what you actually need for 4 kids and 2 goldendoodles. I swear by the WeatherTech CargoTech Containment System 4-Piece blocks for the heavy lifting. I used them for a massive loaded cooler and those things did not budge even on sharp mountain turns. The grippy bottom is like magic on the Lincoln carpet, it basically feels like it is bolted down. Seriously, it is a total game changer for the heavy suitcases and gear! For the snack situation and the dogs stuff, definitely go with the Drive Auto Car Trunk Organizer Collapsible Storage. It is actually super sturdy if you use the tie-down straps that come with it. Since your trunk is massive, I would honestly grab two of them and line them up side-by-side. It keeps the groceries from rolling into that deep abyss in the back. Combining the CargoTech blocks for your heavy suitcases with the Drive bins for the snacks is the ultimate setup. It fits your $200 budget perfectly and you will actually keep your sanity! Good luck with the packing, you got this!
Seconded!
Jumping in here, I've been very satisfied with the Rola 59001 M.O.V.E. Rigid Base Trunk Organizer for heavy gear. The non-skid base remains stable on the Navigator floor. For larger items like suitcases, I recommend the Genuine Ford VLL5Z-5455066-A Cargo Net. It utilizes the factory mounting points and prevents shifting. This setup is way more effective than that dealer bin.
