Hey everyone! I recently picked up a 2019 Lincoln Continental, and I absolutely love the sleek, minimalist interior. Because I want to keep it looking pristine, I’m in the market for a high-quality dash cam that won't clutter up the dashboard or ruin the aesthetic. I’m specifically looking for something that offers 4K resolution and great low-light performance, as I do a lot of night driving.

I’ve been looking into models like the BlackVue or Thinkware, but I’m a bit worried about the installation process with the Continental's specific mirror housing and the auto-dimming features. I’d really prefer something that looks close to OEM or at least very discreet. Also, since this car has a lot of high-tech electronics, has anyone run into battery drain issues when using a parking mode hardwire kit? I’m willing to spend around $400-$500 for a reliable setup that includes a rear camera as well.

Does anyone have a specific brand or model they’ve installed in their Continental that fits perfectly without blocking the sensors? I’d love to hear about your wiring experiences and which mount worked best for you!

Seconding the recommendation above. In my experience, paying for the big names is often overkill... not 100% sure but I think a Viofo kit offers better value for night driving without draining your wallet. 👍

Pro tip: Check out the forums at DashCamTalk for specific sensor layouts. For safety, honestly look into the VIOFO A229 Pro 4K Dual Dash Cam with 256GB microSDXC... its HDR tech is CRITICAL for night visibility without frying your battery. 👍

sooo i actually went through this when i got my 2019 continental and honestly i was terrified of messing up that fancy mirror housing too. i wanted that clean factory look without wires everywhere and was super worried about the battery drain cuz these cars are basically computers on wheels lol.

for your situation, i would suggest looking at the VIOFO A229 Pro 2-Channel 4K Dash Cam with 128GB microSDXC. i went with this one because it's a bit more low-profile than some of the bigger brands and the 4K sensor is actually legit for night driving.

here's what i recommend for the technical side:
* get the VIOFO HK4 Hardwire Kit for A229 Pro—this lets you set a voltage cutoff so you dont kill the battery in parking mode.
* use a Dongar Dash Cam Power Adapter 16-pin for Ford and Lincoln if you want to skip the fuse box and just tap the power from your mirror. its basically plug and play.

be careful tho, cuz if you hardwire to the fuse box, make sure to test which ones are actually switched. i learned the hard way that some stay live longer than you think! i guess the dongar adapter is the easiest way to avoid the sensor issues tho. good luck!!

Sooo, I actually went through this exact struggle with my own Continental a couple years back, and honestly... it’s kinda tricky because of that massive mirror housing. I tried the BlackVue DR900X-2CH Plus 4K Dash Cam with 32GB microSD first because everyone raves about them, but unfortunately, it felt super bulky behind the mirror and the mount just didn't sit right with the auto-dimming sensor.

For your situation, I highkey recommend looking at the Fitcamx 4K Dash Cam for Lincoln Continental instead. It basically replaces the plastic shell behind your mirror so it looks 100% factory. No wires hanging out, no cluttered dash, and it literally looks like it came with the car. Ngl, it's not as customizable as the high-end Thinkware U1000 4K Dual Channel Dash Cam with 32GB microSD, but for the aesthetic you want? It's the winner.

About the battery drain... yeah, I had issues with that too. These Lincolns have sensitive electronics and the car’s computer might throw a fit if it sees a constant draw. If you're gonna do parking mode, seriously, don't just hardwire it to the fuse box. I ended up adding a BlackVue Power Magic Ultra Battery B-130X under the seat. It charges while you drive and powers the cam when parked so you don't risk killing your main battery, right? It's a bit extra for the budget but saves you from a dead car in the morning... been there, done that, not fun lol. Good luck with the install!
