I just picked up my new Mazda CX-50 and I’m absolutely loving the interior, but I’m a bit worried about scuffing up the trunk space. Between my muddy hiking gear and grocery runs, the carpet is going to get trashed pretty quickly. I’ve looked at the OEM Mazda liners, but I’ve also seen people mention WeatherTech and TuxMat as solid alternatives. Does the OEM one provide enough coverage for the side walls, or should I go with a high-wall aftermarket option for better protection? I'm looking for something that fits like a glove and doesn't slide around. What are you guys using, and how is the durability holding up?

Honestly, the Mazda CX-50 OEM Cargo Liner was disappointing for me because it lacks side-wall coverage. I'd definitely go with the TuxMat Mazda CX-50 Cargo Liner for that precise, high-wall fit instead.

Honestly, I've had issues with many liners being slippery, which is a huge safety concern for me if gear slides around during a sudden stop. I'd suggest looking at the Husky Liners Weatherbeater Cargo Liner for Mazda CX-50. It's usually cheaper than TuxMat, around $110, but the grip is better than WeatherTech IMO. It doesn't have the highest walls ever, but for the price, it's a solid, practical balance of protection and safety.

I went through this last year. I skipped the OEM one because it seemed too thin for the price. I actually tried out the WeatherTech Cargo Liner for Mazda CX-50 first. It's solid, but I noticed some dirt still gets behind the edges because the walls aren't super high.

* WeatherTech: ~$130, very durable plastic
* Smartliner Custom Fit Cargo Liner for Mazda CX-50: ~$80, better budget pick

Honestly, I'm still debating if the extra coverage of those high-wall options is worth the extra cash! Hope that helps.

Quick question before I give advice: are you planning to fold the rear seats down often for your gear, or do you mostly just need protection for the main trunk area?

Protection is all about surface area coverage! To save money and get the best value, keep these tips in mind:
* Look for liners with a high "lip" or perimeter wall to trap liquids.
* Check if the material is TPE for better grip without the premium price tag.

Well, actually, I've found that Smartliner Custom Fit Cargo Liner Bundle for Mazda CX-50 is a fantastic budget-friendly alternative to the bigger brands while still being super durable! Honestly, it's amazing how much you can save without sacrificing fit. Let me know about those seats!
