Just got my CX-90 PHEV and we're heading to Vermont this Friday so I need gear fast. I saw some say OEM mats are thin but then heard TuxMat has issues with the PHEV battery hump fitment. Im totally lost now. What are the absolute must-have accessories for a family trip?
How many passengers you got? In my experience, dont forget these for safety:
TL;DR: Skip the overpriced OEM storage bins. Get the Lusso Gear Car Trash Can with Lid for the kids instead. Quick reply while I have a sec. Unfortunately, I had issues with the official Mazda organizers... they felt cheap and definitely werent as good as expected for the price. Was pretty bummed tbh. To save some cash, just grab the Helteko Backseat Car Organizer to keep things tidy on the cheap. Youll need that extra money for Vermont gas prices!
Congrats on the new ride! The CX-90 PHEV is such an amazing piece of engineering, honestly love the torque. You're right about the mats tho, OEM is basically paper thin. If you want the best fit for that battery hump, skip the TuxMat and grab the 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats Black K1MA0351. They use high-precision laser scans so the fitment is 100% tight even with the PHEV floor variations. Fantastic grip too. Since you're doing a road trip, you gotta speed up those charges. I highly recommend the Lectron NEMA 14-50 Level 2 EV Charger 240V 40 Amp to get that battery full in under 2.5 hours at your destination. Also, grab the Mazda OEM CX-90 Rear Bumper Guard Stainless Steel to save your paint from those heavy suitcases. Vermont is gonna be epic!
@Reply #3 - good point! Unfortunately, I had issues with the official storage gear too. On our last trip, the divider i bought just collapsed under some groceries and nearly blocked the view through the back window. It was super sketchy and just wasnt as good as expected for the price. Now I just use an old crate from the garage to keep things from sliding around and hitting the liftgate glass...
