I just took delivery of my new Mercedes EQE SUV, and while I absolutely love the massive MBUX screen, I’m already getting a bit paranoid about fingerprints and potential scratches. The screen is such a focal point of the interior, and it seems to be a total magnet for smudges and dust after just a few days of driving. I’m looking for a high-quality screen protector that won’t compromise the touch sensitivity or the clarity of the display.

I’ve been looking at a few options online, ranging from the standard film protectors to the tempered glass versions. I’m particularly concerned about the anti-glare properties since the cabin gets a lot of light from the panoramic roof. Does anyone have experience with a specific brand that fits the EQE SUV dimensions perfectly? I’m also curious if anyone has tried the matte finish versions to help with reflections, or if those end up making the beautiful OLED colors look a bit dull. My budget is flexible, but I’d prefer something under $60 that is easy to install without bubbles.

Has anyone found a specific screen protector for the EQE SUV that handles glare well and doesn't interfere with the haptic feedback?

Ok so, I literally just went through this with my EQE because the fingerprints were driving me crazy!! Honestly, I highkey recommend the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector GLAS.tR Slim for Mercedes-Benz MBUX 12.8-inch. It's basically the gold standard for clarity and it's super easy to install without bubbles. If you want to kill the glare from that pano roof, definitely check out the ScreenShield Matte Anti-Glare Screen Protector for Mercedes EQE SUV MBUX. It handles reflections like a pro, tho you might lose like 2% of that OLED pop, but it's worth it for the clean look imo. gl!

Similar situation here - I was kinda nervous about messing up that gorgeous display too. I did a bunch of market research looking for value and ended up trying the VIESUP Screen Protector for Mercedes Benz EQE SUV 12.8-inch MBUX. It was only like $25, which is way cheaper than some big brands but feels just as solid tbh. The install was actually pretty easy and it hasn't messed with the haptic feedback at all. Definitely worth a look if ur on a budget! lol

Seconding the recommendation above, Spigen is solid. But if you're really worried about the glare from that pano roof, definitely be careful with matte films. I've seen some LFOTPP Matte Screen Protector for Mercedes EQE SUV MBUX 12.8-inch options that help, but they might make the OLED look slightly grainy. Personally, I'd suggest a ScreenPro Nano-Coating Kit for Infotainment Screens as an extra layer over a clear glass protector to help with fingerprints without killing the clarity. Just make sure to align it perfectly so the haptic sensors aren't blocked! 👍

Regarding what #4 said about "Similar situation here

  • I was kinda nervous..."
  • I totally get that anxiety. I was terrified of scratching that display within the first hour of ownership because it's basically the whole dashboard. I ended up doing a little experiment where I bought a cheap generic one from an online marketplace and then compared it to a more expensive pro brand version. I even looked at the RUIYA tempered glass for EQE SUV but ended up going with a different boutique kit I found on a specialized car site. The difference in the oleophobic coating was actually pretty wild. The cheap one felt kinda sticky under my fingers, but the one I ended up keeping feels just as smooth as the factory glass, maybe even better. A few things I noticed:
  • The high-end glass seems to handle the glare from the pano roof way better than the film versions.
  • Alignment is everything, so look for one that comes with a plastic guide tool.
  • Dust is your worst enemy during the install, so do it in the garage with the doors closed. I am super happy with my current setup now. It doesnt dull the OLED colors at all, which was my biggest fear. Honestly, its just nice to not have to wipe it down every single time I park the car.
