Hey everyone! I just picked up a Mitsubishi Mirage G4 and I'm looking to spruce up the cabin a bit. Since the interior is mostly plastic and cloth, I really want to add some touches that make it feel more premium and comfortable for daily driving. I'm definitely looking for some high-quality deep-dish floor mats to keep the carpets clean, and I've been eyeing some customized seat covers since the factory fabric seems like it might stain easily. I'm also curious if anyone has found a good aftermarket center console armrest that fits well. What are your must-have interior upgrades that are actually worth the money?
In my experience, the Mirage G4 definitely needs a few upgrades to stop feeling so... well, plasticky. For your situation, I would suggest being super careful about fitment because cheap accessories can actually be a safety hazard. I have tried many floor mats over the years and i really think WeatherTech FloorLiner 445211 is the only way to go. They lock into the factory floor hooks so they wont slide under your pedals, which is seriously scary if it happens while driving!!
For the seats, honestly look at Clazzio PVC Seat Covers for Mitsubishi Mirage. They are a bit pricier but they are actually designed to work with your side airbags. Basically, if you buy generic ones, you might block the safety features. Also, for that armrest issue, I recommend the Gledring Custom Armrest for Mitsubishi Mirage. Its way more stable than the universal junk you see online. Just take your time with the install and maybe ask a pro for help with the seat covers so they look tight and premium. gl!
I went through this last year! I was sooo excited to fix that plastic vibe. I compared a couple of mat options for my build:
1. Husky Liners Weatherbeater Floor Mats 99821: Highkey great quality, but they're kinda expensive...
2. Motor Trend FlexTough Plus Deep Dish Floor Mats: Way cheaper!! But you gotta trim them yourself which was a mess lol.
The budget ones actually saved my floors and looked amazing!! Good luck!
yo, so basically mirages are all plastic and basic cloth inside. i learned after years that the cabin wears down fast if u dont protect it!! honestly, the deep-dish mats i got saved my floors from total ruin. plus, the custom-fit covers and armrest i added made it feel way more premium. it's amazing how much ur daily drive improves with these things. seriously, best decision ever!!
Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷
Similar situation here. Basically, my years driving taught me safety is priority #1:
1. Go with WeatherTech; they dont slide around.
2. Any leatherette brand works if they're airbag safe!
