honestly i am so lost with this new outlander phev. i just got it yesterday and i’m already terrified of ruining the interior. i don’t know anything about cars really so sorry if this is a basic question but what am i supposed to buy first?? i’m in seattle and it’s pouring today and the kids already tracked mud onto the carpet. i’m so frustrated lol.

  • need to stay under $300
  • gotta have it by next thursday for a road trip
  • must be easy to install cuz im not handy at all

what are the actual essentials i need so i dont destroy this thing? maybe floor mats or something for the back? i keep seeing stuff online but it’s all so confusing...

^ This. Also, unfortunately, the center console material scuffs way too easily if kids lean on it. I had issues with it staining early, which was disappointing for a new car. Grab a Vancool Center Console Cover for Mitsubishi Outlander to save your trim. Tbh, skip the dealership markups and get an EPAuto 2 Gallon Waterproof Car Trash Can to keep snacks off the floor. Both are under 25 bucks total and wont break the bank.

Omg you gotta get all-weather floor mats immediately!! Since you're in Seattle, the carpet stands no chance against that rain. I swear by WeatherTech FloorLiner for Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. They literally just drop into place, super easy. Also grab a SMARTLINER Cargo Liner for Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV for the trunk. It saves my life every time I haul muddy gear. Both together are way under $300 and honestly life-changing!

Regarding what #1 said about 'Omg you gotta get all-weather floor mats immediately!!...', actually seat backs are the real mud magnets! Lusso Gear Kick Mats Heavy Duty Seat Protectors are high-denier and amazing!

I totally agree with what was said about the center console scuffing, honestly that trim is way more delicate than it looks. I had the same worry when I first brought mine home... felt like I was holding my breath every time the kids got near it. What really saved my sanity was focusing on the high-traffic spots they actually touch that nobody thinks about. I noticed early on that the door thresholds were getting beat up from everyone stepping on the paint to get inside. I ended up getting Xotic Tech Carbon Fiber Door Sill Scuff Protectors and they work well for hiding those marks and preventing new ones. Super easy to just peel and stick, took me like five minutes and theyve stayed put for a year now. Also, if you're worried about the screen getting scratched during the road trip, I've been really satisfied with the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Mitsubishi Outlander. It's thick enough that I dont panic if a kid tosses a toy toward the dash, and it keeps the glare down too. Both of these are super cheap andll definitely be at your house by Thursday. My interior still looks showroom fresh even after a year of muddy hikes, so you can definitely keep it nice without spending a fortune.
