so I looked at WeatherTech but they seem kinda cheap and plastic-y for the price plus Ive heard the PHEV battery bump makes the fit weird compared to the gas model. my logic was to try TuxMat but they're so expensive and I need them by Friday for our muddy camping trip... what actually works??
Quick reply while I have a sec! My 2023 went through this same drama before a big hiking trip. I honestly love my SMARTLINER Custom Fit Floor Mats for Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV so much! They are way more affordable than those fancy brands but the quality is fantastic. The fit handles the battery hump like a champ too. Definitely check Amazon Prime since they ship super fast. You will save a ton!
Building on the earlier suggestion, I had to chime in because I went through this exact same headache last season! I totally get the WeatherTech hate, they feel so industrial and stiff. I ended up grabbing the 3D MAXpider KAGU Series All-Weather Floor Mats for Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and seriously, they are amazing! I was worried about that weird PHEV floor shape, but these fit like a glove and actually look like they belong in a nice car rather than a work truck. The texture is this cool weave that dont get slippery when wet, which was huge for me during a rainy camping trip. I remember tracking in so much mud and pine needles, and it basically just shook right off later. They have these tiny grippers on the bottom so they never slide around. If you find a shop with fast shipping, they are such a solid choice and wont break the bank!
Like someone mentioned, that battery hump makes third-party fitment a nightmare. Unfortunately, I have seen too many people compromise on fit just to meet a shipping deadline. It is a genuine safety risk if the mat slides under the brake pedal because it doesnt sit flush against the floor. I've had issues with mats bunching up in that exact spot, so please verify that the retention clips are fully compatible.
