Seconding the recommendation above! Also try the Inno Shadow 16 Cargo Box and a Drive Auto Trunk Organizer for ur cables—its way cheaper and helps maximize that tight hybrid trunk space!

tbh I tried Thule WingBar Edge because the OEM bars were just too much. They're definitely quieter than the Yakima JetStream bars I had on my last SUV which whistled like crazy... so annoying. For your hybrid, definitely get the Thule Motion XT XL box—it’s super aerodynamic but unfortunately you’ll still see a 10-15% range hit. I was disappointed with the drop-off but it’s better than a basket which literally kills your MPG. gl!

Ok so, basically roof racks are a huge trade-off between convenience and efficiency. Since youre driving a hybrid, like honestly anything you put on the roof is gonna hurt your MPG or electric range cuz of the drag... it just comes with the territory i guess. I've tried many setups over the years and i always worry about the safety side of things so i tend to be pretty CAUTIOUS about going too cheap. In my experience, if you dont want that annoying whistling sound at 70mph, you should just go with Thule. You really cant go wrong with their stuff and it usually fits the Porsche rails perfectly. I think Yakima is also a solid bet but Thule is my go-to. Maybe check if a shop can install them? Better safe than sorry ngl... also definitely get a cargo box from one of those big brands instead of a basket since theyre way more aerodynamic. Plus it keeps your gear dry lol. good luck!

I totally agree about getting an organizer first because those cables are just a mess back there. I have been doing a ton of digging into the market lately because I am in the same boat, and honestly, the price gaps between brands are pretty wild when you look at the specs side by side. Coming from a research perspective, you basically have a few distinct tiers for the Cayenne right now:

• Rhino-Rack Vortex
• These are often overlooked but they have a really similar aero profile to the big brands for a lot less money. They use a VGS strip that is supposed to reduce wind whistle by breaking up the airflow.
• Yakima SkyBox 16
• I noticed this one has a dimpled carbonite texture. From what I have read, it is meant to help with wind turbulence better than the smooth glossy boxes, though I am not sure if that is just marketing talk?
• Kuat NV 2.0
• If you end up doing bikes later, the market research seems to lean heavily toward hitch racks for hybrids because the drag is way lower than the roof and it wont kill your MPG as much. Anyway, I have seen some people say the T-track systems on the aftermarket bars are actually easier to swap accessories on than the Porsche ones. I am still a bit of a newbie with this car, but I heard the OEM bars might sit higher off the roof? If that is the case, it would definitely hurt your range more because of the extra air gap... has anyone actually measured that?
