Hey everyone, I'm beyond excited to finally pick up my new Porsche Taycan next week! Since it's my first EV, I want to make sure I have the essentials ready from day one to keep it looking sharp. I’m already looking into high-quality all-weather floor mats and a sturdy trunk liner for grocery runs, but I’m curious if there are other must-haves I’m missing. Are there specific charging cable organizers or dashcams that fit the Taycan’s aesthetic particularly well? I’m also considering screen protectors for those massive infotainment displays to avoid fingerprints. What were the first few accessories you bought that actually improved your daily driving experience?
Ok so honestly, I just got mine and I'm super happy with it so far. Being new to EVs, you gotta realize those massive screens are basically giant smudge magnets lol. It's highkey annoying when the sun hits the dash and you just see fingerprints everywhere... thats why I think protection is priority number one. For your situation, I would suggest starting with the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Porsche Taycan because it actually fits the curves perfectly and keeps the touch sensitivity high. For the dashcam, I reallyyy wanted something that didnt look like a bulky add-on, so I got the Fitcamx 4K Dash Cam for Porsche Taycan. It basically replaces the plastic mirror housing, so it looks totally OEM and you dont have wires hanging everywhere. Plus, for the garage, definitely grab the Lectron EV Charger Nozzle Holster and Cable Organizer to keep that heavy cable from just sitting on the floor. It works well and keeps everything tidy. gl with the pickup next week, youre gonna love it!! peace
Yo, I was in your shoes just a few weeks ago! I was literally obsessed with finding stuff that wouldn't ruin the Taycan's vibe. Tbh, I spent way too much time looking for a dashcam that didn't involve hanging wires. I finally settled on the Fitcamx Integrated Dashcam for Porsche Taycan. It actually replaces the plastic shell behind the rearview mirror, so it looks 100% factory. It's about $200 and the technical install is pretty straightforward since it taps the rain sensor power. For the trunk, I honestly think the WeatherTech Cargo Liner for Porsche Taycan is the way to go over the OEM ones. It's like $130 and basically indestructible for grocery runs. Also, grab a Lectron Tesla to J1772 Charging Adapter 48A. It lets you use Tesla destination chargers at hotels, which is a lifesaver on road trips. TL;DR: Prioritize an integrated dashcam and a Tesla adapter for maximum flexibility!
This^ Also wanted to add my two cents as someone whose been through a few EVs now. I've spent a lot on fancy gear over the years and unfortunately, some of it was a total waste of money. If your looking to save some cash while keeping that Taycan pristine, here is my advice: 1. Floor Mats: Honestly, dont bother with the expensive dealer ones. Just get a set from a brand like WeatherTech or TuxMat. I had issues with the official ones wearing down way too fast for what they cost.
2. Paint Protection: You dont need a $2,000 professional coating. Just get any ceramic spray from a brand like Meguiar’s or Turtle Wax. It’s basically the same look for way less if ur regular with it.
3. Console Storage: Porsche basically forgot we need a place for coins and keys lol. Just grab a generic console organizer from Amazon. Basically, you dont need to break the bank to protect it. Congrats on the car, its gonna be SO fun! peace
