So I finally did it and ordered a Taycan. Its coming next Thursday here in Seattle and honestly I am panicking a little bit because I have never owned a car this nice or an electric car at all actually. My last car was a total junker that I didnt care about but I want to keep this one looking perfect but I have no idea what I actually need to buy for the inside. Like is there stuff the dealer doesnt give you that you absolutely have to have? sorry if this is a dumb question but I have no idea where to start.
I was looking at the official Porsche shop and everything is so expensive like hundreds of dollars for a piece of plastic so I was thinking maybe I should look on Amazon but I dont want to put cheap stuff in a Porsche if that makes sense? My logic was that I probably need things like:
I feel so dumb asking this lol. And the screens look huge so I’m worried about them getting scratched or covered in greasy fingerprints from the kids. Is a screen protector even a thing for cars?? I saw some online but they look hard to install and I dont want to mess up the touch sensitivity. I have about 1500 dollars set aside just for startup stuff like this but I dont want to waste it on things that just sit in the glovebox.
I saw someone mention a center console organizer because apparently the storage is weirdly shaped? Also what about cleaning stuff? I saw some people talking about special microfiber cloths or sprays but there are so many brands and I just got overwhelmed and closed the browser. If anyone has a list of like the top 5 things they actually use every day in their Taycan that would be amazing. I'm just looking for practical stuff that makes life easier or protects the interior from getting ruined. Like am I missing something obvious like a specific charging cable or a trunk liner? Total newbie here so please talk to me like I am five...
Honestly, congrats on the Taycan. It is a masterpiece, but you are right to be cautious about the interior because those glossy surfaces are absolute magnets for scratches. I would suggest starting with protection before you even take it on a long drive. Seattle rain will ruin your carpet fast, so swap the carpet mats immediately. Be careful with generic screen protectors tho, as some can actually ruin the anti-glare coating Porsche uses. I have found these specific items to be essential:
Regarding what #1 said about protection, those official mats were unfortunately a total letdown for me.
