Hey everyone! I just picked up a 2023 Ram ProMaster 2500 High Roof, and I'm absolutely loving the space. However, right now it’s basically a giant empty cavern, and my tools are sliding all over the place every time I take a turn. One of the main reasons I went with the ProMaster was for those nearly vertical side walls, which I know are perfect for shelving, but I’m struggling to decide which direction to go for the build-out.

I’ve been looking at some of the pre-made modular steel kits from companies like Adrian Steel or Ranger Design, but they are a bit of an investment. On the other hand, I’ve seen some really slick DIY plywood builds on YouTube, but I’m worried about the added weight and how they’ll hold up over a few years of daily use. I’m mainly carrying a mix of heavy power tool cases, small hardware bins, and some longer materials like 4-foot levels and conduit. I really want a setup that maximizes that high ceiling without making the van feel too cramped or top-heavy. My budget is around $1,500 to $2,000 to get the main side started.

Does anyone have experience with specific brands or custom layouts that work best specifically for the ProMaster’s unique dimensions? I’d love to hear what has held up well for you and if you have any tips on the best way to secure everything to the factory mounting points without drilling unnecessary holes.

Seconding the recommendation above! Steel is SO much better for those vertical walls. Tbh, if you wanna stay under that $2k budget, check out Kargo Master 40" W Shelving Unit for ProMaster. Its around $600 each, so you can do the whole side and still have cash for the Kargo Master 4-Hook Large Tool Rack for your levels. Seriously, skip the wood... its just too heavy and basically kills your MPG! 👍

sooo, i've built out a few of these. - Steel (Adrian Steel ProMaster General Service Package): $1,800, light, durable.
- DIY Wood: $400 but heavy as hell. Honestly, steel is the best choice for $2k. Wood is way too heavy and kills ur gas mileage tbh. Pre-made kits bolt right into factory points so no drilling required... seriously saves ur back!! gl man.

Ngl, steel is the way for the ProMaster ribs. Here’s what I’d grab for under $2k: - Masterack Steel Shelving Unit 48in x 12in x 60in - fits the walls well.
- American Van Steel Shelving Unit 48in x 60in - solid budget pick.
- Weather Guard 9859-3-01 Level Holder - keeps levels safe. Use factory holes and Plusnuts so you dont gotta drill the skin. Saves weight and ur gas... pretty easy choice tbh
