I recently picked up a 5th gen RAM 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi, and while I love the truck, I’m looking to give it a bit more growl and maybe improve the throttle response. I’ve been looking at options like S&B, Vararam, and K&N, but the price points and designs vary so much that I’m feeling a bit stuck. I’m mostly looking for a bolt-on kit that doesn't require a tune and fits well with the stock hood. Budget is around $400-$500, and I’m curious if anyone has noticed real-world MPG gains or if it’s mostly just for the sound. Which intake do you guys think offers the best bang for the buck in terms of build quality and performance?

In my experience, you've gotta be careful with open filters that suck in hot engine air. If you want a solid alternative to the S&B, I'd suggest looking at the aFe Power Momentum GT Intake System 54-72105 for RAM 1500 5.7L. It's a high-quality sealed unit that preserves your low-end torque. Honestly, don't expect huge MPG gains—it's mostly about the induction growl and throttle response. Stick with a dry filter to keep your sensors safe!

Respectfully, I'd consider another option before dropping $500. Honestly, for the best bang for your buck on a 5th gen Hemi, I'd just swap the stock filter for a K&N 33-5076 Replacement Air Filter. In my experience, high-dollar intakes don't actually add MPG—they're mostly for the sound. If you really want that growl without breaking the bank, grab the Airaid 300-928 Jr. Intake Tube Kit. It deletes the restrictive stock tube for way less cash!

Hi there! Honestly, I've tried a few setups on my 5th gen, and for your budget, I'd absolutely suggest the S&B Filters 75-5133 Cold Air Intake for 2019-2023 RAM 1500 5.7L Hemi. It fits like a glove and the enclosed box keeps things safe from engine heat!

Warning: Avoid open-element filters without a box! They sound loud, but they actually suck in hot engine air, which can hurt your performance and fuel economy over time.

* Amazing build quality
* Great throttle response
* No tune needed

I love the deep growl it gives! Real-world MPG didn't change much for me, but the sound is fantastic. Good luck!

My buddy told me the exact same thing last week. Guess he was right lol.
