Hey everyone! I just picked up a new Ram ProMaster EV for my mobile tech business and I’m ready to start the upfitting process. Since it’s an EV, I’m really focused on finding lightweight accessories to help preserve the driving range, so I’m leaning toward aluminum or composite materials over heavy steel. I’m also a bit nervous about the floor mounting—are there specific kits designed to avoid interfering with the battery packs under the floor? I’d love to find some modular bin dividers or pull-out drawers that fit the ProMaster’s unique interior dimensions perfectly. Does anyone have recommendations for specific shelving brands or must-have accessories that work best for this electric model?
Ok so range is basically everything on an EV!! To solve the range and mounting issues, here's what I recommend:
- Ranger Design Aluminum ProMaster EV Shelving Package: Lightest weight specs.
- Legend Fleet Solutions EV Floor: Uses factory holes to avoid the battery.
- Ranger Design Axess Tray: Best modular drawer imo.
I'd definitely go with the aluminum/composite setup over steel. gl!
Been thinking about your question... tbh, range anxiety is real and messing with the battery floor is SCARY stuff. If you're trying to save money but keep it light, here's how I'd break it down:
Option A: Adrian Steel Aluminum Shelving Starter Package for RAM ProMaster is the gold standard for weight. It's pricey (around $1,700), but the fit is perfect.
Option B: Masterack SmartSpace Modular Shelving with Composite Bins is GREAT for value. Using those plastic totes instead of metal drawers saves a ton of weight and cash. Usually runs about $1,200.
Option C: Weather Guard Aluminum Van Shelving Model 8300-3-01 is basically the middle ground. Very durable.
For the floor, seriously, just get the Adrian Steel ProMaster No-Drill Base Plate Kit. It's like $480 but it uses factory points so you dont accidentally pierce a battery cell... that repair bill would be INSANE. gl! 👍
Sooo I actually went through this recently with my own EV setup! I was pretty nervous about the battery under the floor too...
* I ended up using a drill-free mounting system that just clips into the factory spots.
* My current setup uses composite drawers instead of metal ones to save weight.
* It really helps keep the range from dropping too fast... I think?
Make sure to check the weight specs!! gl!
