I just picked up my R1S yesterday and I'm honestly terrified of getting the floor dirty. I live in Seattle and it's basically raining every single day right now and I already saw some mud on the carpet which is making me really anxious because this car was so expensive. I dont really know anything about car stuff and looking at floor mats online is just confusing me like there are so many brands. Some people say the ones from Rivian are okay but then others talk about 3D Maxpider or WeatherTech and I have no idea if they actually fit the quad motor version differently? Is there even a difference in the floor shape? I need to get something by next Friday because we are taking the kids to the mountains and it's gonna be a mess. I'm sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask but I'm just worried about buying the wrong thing and it not fitting right or looking cheap. Should I just get the ones from the Rivian shop or is there something better that covers more of the floor? I really want something that stays in place and doesnt slide around because that seems dangerous. My budget is like 300 bucks maybe more if they are really good. I just want the interior to stay nice since we literally just got it and I'm already stressing out about the mud...
Congrats on the R1S! Seriously, you are gonna love it, it is such a fantastic ride!! I totally get the stress about the mud, especially living in Seattle... that rain is relentless. First off, dont worry about the quad motor vs dual motor thing, the interior floor layout is the exact same for both so any R1S specific mat will fit perfectly. I have tried a few different ones and here is the breakdown based on my experience:
Building on the earlier suggestion, keeping that mud out is definitely priority number one!! Everyone here has basically confirmed the quad vs dual motor floor layout is the same, so you dont have to worry about that at all. Since you are on a $300 budget and need them fast for your trip to the mountains, here are two fantastic options that are super practical:
Would love to know this too
Jumping in to say the sliding thing is a huge safety concern for me too. Do you need coverage for all three rows or just the front? For maximum safety, TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats Rivian R1S is a decent option because they use side clips to stay in place. The fit is really tight which helps with the mud, tho they can be a bit harder to clean than rubber mats. It mostly depends on your seating needs.
