Just picked up my 2024 Forester yesterday and Im so hyped to get it out on the trails! I need to protect the inside though cuz my lab mixes get muddy fast. Im torn between getting the WeatherTech FloorLiners or just sticking with the OEM Subaru ones from the dealer. The WeatherTechs look like they cover more of the carpet but theyre kinda pricey. Also for seats - should I go with the cheap Amazon neoprene ones or are the Wet Okole covers actually worth the extra cash? My budget is like $400 tops for now.

  • must be dog hair resistant
  • easy to spray down
  • fits snug

Which combo is gonna last longer for a weekend hiker?

Personally, the WeatherTech FloorLiner Laser Measured worked great for me tho. They definitely catch more mud than Subaru OEM All-Weather Floor Mats. For seats, honestly just get Gorla Gear Universal Fit Neoprene Seat Cover off Amazon. They're super easy to spray down and dog hair doesnt stick. TL;DR: Go WeatherTech for floors and budget covers for seats to get premium protection while staying under $400.

honestly, i spent way too much on the cheap stuff before realizing it was a total waste. those amazon neoprene covers? they start smelling like wet dog and rubber almost immediately. the material is thin and my labs claws went right through the fabric in like a month. super disappointing. unfortunately the oem subaru mats are also a letdown because they just dont cover enough area behind the pedals. if you want something that actually stays put, i had major issues with the factory mats sliding around. check out Husky Liners WeatherBeater Floor Mats Front and Second Row. they have these little spikes on the bottom that lock into the carpet way better than the stuff subaru sells. the walls are also higher so the mud doesnt just overflow onto the floor when you hit a turn. for the seats, i know they're pricey but Wet Okole Waterproof Neoprene Seat Covers Custom Fit are legit. cheap ones are basically just loose bags that slide around. wet okole uses high-grade neoprene thats bonded properly so hair doesnt weave into the fabric. plus you get that extra foam padding which makes the forester seats way more comfortable for long drives. spending more on something that lasts years is better than buying $50 covers every six months. dont cheap out on the protection or you'll be scrubbing dog hair out of those cracks forever. basically, if it isnt custom fit, it isnt gonna protect anything once your dogs start jumping around back there... trust me on that one.
