What's the Best Road Trip Accessory Kit for a Tesla Model 3?
Considering essentials like a travel charger, tire repair kit, first aid kit, and jack pads mentioned in various forums, what constitutes the ultimate Model 3 road trip accessory kit? Beyond these basics, should a 12V compressor, A Better Route Planner subscription, and non-Tesla charging network accounts be included for long-distance journeys? What organizers or specific products further enhance the Tesla Model 3 road trip experience?

Honestly, after doing the cross-country thing a few times, reliability is basically everything. I think the biggest thing people forget is how much peace of mind a CCS adapter gives you? Not 100% sure if everyone needs it with the supercharger network growing, but it definitely saved me in a rural dead zone once.

  • A good quality CCS adapter just in case a supercharger is down or full
  • Some heavy duty pucks for the jack points because some local shops dont always have them
  • A basic toolkit with a socket wrench specifically for the 12v battery terminals
  • Offline maps downloaded on your phone because cell service gets realy wierd in the mountains Someone told me once that you should also carry a high-vis vest and a proper flashlight, not just your phone light. I think that makes a lot of sense if youre stuck on a shoulder at night. Better safe than sorry when youre out in the middle of nowhere!

After 15,000+ miles of road trips in my Model 3, here's my essential kit:

  • Tesla's Basic Wall Connector (for campgrounds with NEMA 14-50)
  • A quality compact tire inflator (I use the Ryobi One+ that runs on both 12V and batteries)
  • Center console organizer to keep small items from sliding around
  • Decent power bank (Anker 737) for camping or unexpected stops
  • Windshield sunshade (essential for Supercharging in hot weather)
  • Trunk organizer with dividers for groceries/luggage

Everything fits in a small duffel that stays in my frunk. The peace of mind alone is worth it.
