I'm considering buying a used Tesla and would love some advice from those who have experience with it. What should I look for in terms of battery health and overall condition? Are there specific models or years that are better to avoid? Any tips on negotiating the price or finding a reliable seller? Your insights would be greatly appreciated!

I'm still obsessed with my car but honestly, buying my first used one was a total rollercoaster. Jumping in way too fast because I was excited meant missing some major red flags that ended up costing me. The one I got looked perfect on the screen, but those first few weeks were rough because I didnt realize how much the previous owner had hidden. I would suggest you be careful with:

  • inspecting the underside for any scrapes or potential battery casing damage
  • checking the door seals for weird wind noise during a high-speed test drive
  • looking at the tire tread depth because these heavy cars eat through rubber so fast I almost got stuck with a car that had been in a minor fender bender that wasnt on the history report at all. Make sure to look at the panel gaps really closely to see if they match up. Just take your time and dont let a seller rush you... trust me, I learned that lesson the hard way after I already signed everything.
